Speaker 1: (00:00)
This is episode two, three 61. We are complete carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 or on the web at complete carpet, tulsa.com uh, wanted to talk about the importance of having a, a high purpose or a high goal. Uh, knowing what it is that you’re good at. It I loved, I heard a quote once said that if you can’t be the best at what you’re going to do, then don’t even try. Like if you’re going to come in at you know, the worst or come in 10th place, then don’t mind if the market find the thing that you’re good at. Carpet cleaning Tulsa Find the thing that you’re the best staff. Find the thing that you have a connection for. I think we all are given a gift, a set, uh, whether you think that God imbued you with a set of gifts or that you were just organically created.

Speaker 1: (00:54)
We know that no two individuals are really that similar. We’re all unique. We have different fingerprints. We have different thoughts and ideas and ways of approaching or viewing a society. If you took 10 people and took them all to see vendor’s end game, you would have 10 different opinions and impressions of the movie. But physically the movie, the contents, the words, the explosions, they all saw the exact same movie and yet they would not come to the exact same conclusion as to what was good and what was not good about that particular movie. So you’re looking at it and you’re see the world through your particular set of experiences through your particular set of knowledge base. Carpet cleaning Tulsa I love telling a story to my kids to try to illustrate this Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. Um, we call it the Oreo cookie story. Uh, but there was a lady and she was at the airport and she was ready to get on her flight.

Speaker 1: (01:51)
She was waiting for the flight to come up. And so she thought, you know what, I will grab myself a magazine and I’ll grab myself a little six pack of Oreo cookies and I will sit down and read the magazine. Well, I patiently wait for my flight to be called for my seats to be called, my role to be called my section to be called so that I can be able to get on the plane and on my way to my next destination. As she’s sitting there patiently reading her newspapers, flipping through articles, um, she reaches down, opened up her pack of Oreos and takes one of the Oreos out, slowly starts to eat it, and then she’s sitting there reading the, uh, her article. She notices out of the corner of her eye. She, the man next to her reaches down and grabs it and it looks like he takes it, one of her Oreos out of her pack of Oreos and she thinks no, somebody could be so brash as to reach down right in front of me and grabbed one of my Oreos.

Speaker 1: (02:42)
Surely I would just must be a mistake. I probably wasn’t paying attention. I was looking at my magazine, didn’t really notice it, so I’m probably mistaken. And she then reaches down to pick up in the Oreo, feel a little lighter. You doesn’t want to be rude and just pull them all out and count them to just figure out whether this guy took them, but she feels like he may have taken more. So she grabs two and thinks if I’ve had one and theirs and I’ve take two more right now, there should just be three left in there. She kind of feels that feeling. There’s only two left and so she’s like, ah, I can’t really understand. Why would this guy just take my Oreo out of out of nowhere like that. And so she eats the two Oreos knowing there’s, she believes there’s two left in that bag and she starts to read her a magazine again and as she’s reading her magazine, she notices clearly this time the guy reaches down and takes an Oreo out of the package and now she’s starting to get a little steam. Speaker 1: (03:32)
She’s like, I cannot believe the goal of this man. How could he reach down there and take one of my Oreos? Clearly he knows that I’ve, that these are my Oreos. Clearly he saw me eating of, so he is, I just, I don’t have words for this thing and he, she starting to get the point. It’s steaming inside of her. She starting to really boil over with the frustration. Anger is, she’s about to confront this guy when she feels a tap on her shoulder and as the guy sitting next to her, he is taken, reached down and take it out of the package, the last Oreo and he is offering it to her. She’s handy. He’s handed, he’s got his fingers and he’s handing it towards her and that’s just it. She just loses it. She can’t believe the audacity of this guy to offer her her own last Oreo from her own baggage of after he’s been eating her Oreos and it just, it’s, she’s just about to let loose on this guy win over the loudspeaker, her seat, her I’ll, her row gets called and she just thinks, you know what?

Speaker 1: (04:26)
I’m going to be a better person. I’m just going to walk away from this situation. This is, this is absurd. It’s ridiculous. And show. She knocks the Oreo out of his hand, grabs her stuff and walks to the front gate. And as she’s going up there, she just, you know, a bit of a tiff in a bit of a tizzy to can’t believe the audacity of this guy to, to have done that to her right before she could. You know, this guy is really messed up. The rest of her day just messed up her flight. She can be thinking about this, the entire flight. She’s wanting to have a calm, smooth, easy plight and she gets up to the thing. The boarding agent asks her for her boarding pass, so she opens up her purse and reaches in and searching around for her boarding pass and she reaches in to grab the boarding pass she sees in her purse. Speaker 1: (05:05)
Much to her dismay, her package of Oreos is sitting in her purse and it immediately she realizes that she was sitting next to, had just shared his Oreos with her and without complaining and without grumbling and actually offered her his last Oreo. And all of a sudden that one piece of information changed the entire dynamic, change the entire flow of what she believed about this man. And she’s went from thinking this guy was an awful miser. Uh, just an a reprobate too. This is one of the most generous, kindhearted man she had ever met in her life. And I think that so many times our mind, there was a study done. They said that 60% of our thoughts, our self thoughts that are negative about ourselves, that we only think positively about the things in situations we’re going through only 40% of the time and that sometimes we need to try to take it, put that under control to realize that our assumptions are just assumptions. Our perception is just our perception. It isn’t the way it actually is. We’ve seen 10 different people see a movie with 10 different perspectives and yet none of them really just told you what the movie is. They told you how they felt, how the movie made them feel, what they took away from the middle, what they observed at the movie Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are complete carpet. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 a Carpet cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber. Okay.
