We talked last time about how we, how I originally started when I was 10 to 12 with a lawn mowing company called Lawn Care Company. And uh, after one full summer of really putting in the nice strengthening aerobic exercise of mowing yards, just really getting out there and being one with nature and getting to explore what you know, all of the different facets that grass can have, the effects it can have on your legs, effects it can have on your skin, the itchy properties that you know, it can kind of those little bonus features you didn’t think about from getting to mow the yard.

[01:12] Like say, oh, just the copious amounts of water and liquids that you just have to keep continuously hydrating yourself with, you know, the things that you don’t realize are the extra perks, the bonuses of getting to work outside in the sun, pushing a lawnmower or the times where, you know, through diligent planning you over, you made sure you had brought everything that you needed and then you realize that you forgot to bring gas. carpet cleaning Tulsa And so you get to make the long one mile trek to a gas station and the one mile track back from the gas station as you carry the gas. Because at the time I’m too young to be able to, uh, to have a car and so I just would walk to the gas station, walk back with my gas to be able to put gas in my mower. And my 30 minute lawnmowing job now turned into an hour and a half and I had now increased my, the upside is that I did become extremely energy efficient during that summer.

[02:03] I was very good at going for long periods of time without food going for long periods of time, perpetually trying to search and find different water sources. And so I decided at the end of that summer that all of those extra benefits and the cool thing that you would get from that were not what I wanted to do. And so I decided I would try a different type of, do some type of different work the next summer to make money, um, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. We’re going back in time and we’re gonna go to jump forward to the next business or the next moneymaking adventure that I had tried to do. And this time my sister was in a part of the, um, uh, uh, Ms Dot, she was part of the pageant systems and the Oklahoma area and so they had a little Miss Oklahoma pageant system and so they had their local, they had the regional lab, their area, then they had the big, um, the big pageants and then they had the state pageant and so on the little, the smaller, the first one that she went to with some type of little small regional thing that, you know, it was just for like a neighborhood or just for an area of town, something along those lines.

[03:07] And so as we were doing it, my mom wanted to document everything that was happening there. And so we got a, um, she got a video camera and recorded it because they didn’t have any professional videographer they’re taken care of because all of these little small ones, they’re all self contained. And they said they would have videography at the state competition but not on the local levels. carpet cleaning Tulsa And so all your small, local and regional ones were just parents who just have to videotape it themselves. If they wanted to, and so that got me to thinking as we looked around, um, the next time I got stuck with videotaping it myself. And so this time I’m like, you know what, I’m not going to sit there and hold the camera through the whole thing. So I got a tripod which didn’t cost that much for Walmart and that way, you know, since I had to do this anyway, at least I could do it in an ease.

[03:48] And so I put the camera on the tripod, put it up, and then while I’m sitting there videotaping for my sister to record it so that we could have it for our records because my mom was making me do it at the time. And everybody that came by and said, hey, wait a second, um, are you selling those videotapes? And I said, um, I said, no. I said, but I can find out if it’s something that we could do. And so went and talked to the event organizers and said, look, the only thing we were nailed down on is the, um, the state levels already got it taken care of. But all these small ones, if you want to videotape and sell them, that’s totally fine with us. It’ll actually help our customers go. There’ll be more connected with it and they’ll have something in their house that will remind them of this pageant. carpet cleaning Tulsa

[04:24] Hopefully they’ll continue on. The patent system is wanting to build their way up. And so, uh, before we started carpet cleaning Tulsa in 1998, I was started filming pageants as, I think it was a early teenager, maybe 13, 14 years old. I think I would, maybe not actually 12 to 13 I believe because there was one thing that changed my whole view on pageants at that time. Now there’s obviously they had the, had the little pre evening gown type thing, which for all the little girls, the insert the, this is the little Miss Oklahoma. So it’s all of the young pageant girls, you know, anyone from babies up to maybe 10, 12, 13 years old. And um, so they come out in a nice looking down and then they all had a talent and they all had a talent portion. So I will record all of these different events and then um, and then had to go back and then replay the events because back then we didn’t have digital copies, you had to physically record it on eight millimeter, then you transfer that to a vhs tape and so you’d have to actually copy it off of the camera, onto a vhs tape, put some titles in it, and then give that to the person.

[05:20] And so you had to do a one to one realtime copy. And so I played the video camera while recording the tape and then rip the, wrote the name on it and went to the next person. Fast forward, played the video camera again, recorded tape. So I actually had to relive the entire, um, a pageant system over and over and over it. So at the end of that summer I realized I did not want to record pageant systems because this year was the year that Billy Ray cyrus came out with Achy breaky heart. And so every single little girl did the, um, did a little boot scoot and Boogie, kind of a dance to dance. Number two, I’m Achy breaky heart, and so I heard, don’t break my heart, my achy breaky heart. I’m all summer long. And then to top that off, every single video, I’d have to go back and replay it and re here every single little girls, um, pageant talent of Achy breaky heart. carpet cleaning Tulsa

[06:09] By the end of the end of the summer, I realized I did not want to spend every waking hour listening to rerecording and rerecording videotape over that would probably every year be centered around whatever that year is most popular song was. Um, and so I decided that would be my one and only endevor into the film study school. And so from that point forward, I would find something else that I could do to make money.
