Some good practices, ways to use up patching material and keep it in good shape. I’m one of the things, it’s important that you do, is that you store it.
[00:53] We talked to the end of the last episode talking about how to roll up the carpet properly. Um, I personally would suggest of all of the scraps of, but for my personal house, I’ve actually made a pile and they’re all, you know, three to five feet squares and they just stacked on top of each other that way. There’s no creases, no bends, and I don’t put anything heavy on top of them. They’re the top of any pile. You also don’t want to put them over something that’s curved because, or something like say the back of a chair where it kind of leans over, makes it tp because it’s eventually you’re going to take that carpet off of there and the glue in the backing is going to have molded to that shape and it’s now going to stay in a perpetual tp shape. And so I think it’s very important that you take the carpet.
[01:33] If you do a nice smooth roll, um, use a little tape to hold it in place, but do not put anything on top of it to squish it. Make egg shaped because then the carpet will come out and it will kind of be like a flat tire. It will flop out and it’ll kind of have these bends in it all the way across. Obviously if you put it in a real tight roll, you can try to unroll it. It’s gonna be a little bit crinkled. Uh, one thing that can help perfectly in carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. One thing that we’ve seen that I think is very important that people can do to be able to help to extend the life of carpet and rugs is that you can help to try to take some of the wrinkled outlets. Say you’ve got a rug that’s sitting in a room and the couch sits right next to it and every time somebody walked towards the couch, he sits on the couch.
[02:15] It is pushed against the rug and it’s created this little tweak or buckle or wrinkle in the carpet, a rug or you have. Unfortunately, I’m done what we’ve asked, what we’ve been talking this laps up so it about I’m not doing is rolled something and then put something heavy on top of it and now it’s got a a tweak or one of the things I see that’s the worst for breakfast. They’ll roll the carpet, then fold it in half or they’ll fold it in half and then rolled it up and so this creates one strong right down the middle of the carpet. One strong bend that is then rolled and now it’s creased and crinkled. See unroll it and it looks like a. looks like a tin foil. It’s all crinkled and messed up. One of the things that you can do that kind of helps to get some of that out is that if you take a very hot day, I’m a nice, good sunny day where it’s dry and you could take that carpet, put it out on the driveway and let the heat of the sun and the heat of the concrete help to soften it up.
[03:07] And then you can go through and use something heavy like a set of weights or something that’s like a plastic bin and put some heavy books inside of it. Um, you don’t want to use anything that’s got color that could bleed onto the carpet, like newsprint or wood or metal that might rust or leave stains. carpet cleaning Tulsa But if you sum this plastic that you put something heavy against it, then you can get it hot, get it to be malleable again. If you kind of can warm it up enough and then put something heavy on top of, you can sometimes flattened that carpet back out a lot every time. And sometimes it’s just, you know, it gets stretched so badly that it’s too stuck in place. But a good way to try to get your rug flat again is to get it. I’m using the heat of the sun along with the, put it over some good concrete that will warm up also with it so you get both topical and sub heat coming into it, helping to soften up those fibers and putting something heavy process so that it will help it to lay flat again.
[03:58] I one thing that’s real important also is that when you’re doing this that you make sure that you’re giving. You’re trying to manipulate into the shape that you want it again, is that you also allow it to cool in that same shape. Don’t take it, get it flat, and then fold it back up again. Also, another thing that can help is with your rugs. Sometimes you’ll notice that the corners will curl. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. One of the things that we’ve seen many times is that the corners of the rugs, we’ll start to curl up and people wonder, how do you get, how does this, how could this be fixed or aren’t going to get this to be lay flat? Again, a lot of times the current, it’s because either it’s been cleaned or it’s just been bumped into, but the top fibers which are pretty thick on a rug, typically the top fibers back fibers or the backing on a rug will have dry at different types or one side will be, will be a little bit smaller than the tops of the back starts to shrink and the top has not.
[04:52] Then it will curl down. If it at the top shrinks a little bit in the vacuum is not been. And we’ll actually pull the corner up. Um, there’s two ways that you can try to remove this, um, that we’ve always given our customers as examples. carpet cleaning Tulsa since 19. Ninety eight is that you can go over and just reverse role at whatever, if it’s currently up and then curl it down. Just kind of twist it. And try to massage or mold that into a, a low underneath the carpet, pushed down a little bit on it, and then let it go back straight again and you’ll create the opposite wrinkled. It’s there. And sometimes we’ll get it to lay flat flat. The other way that you can do it is you can take some water and get that area lightly wet. Just dap, get it kind of.
[05:29] And then take something heavy, put it over top of it while it dries. Fabric will remember its shape, is it dry? So if you can get it to be flat well as drawing, then it will stay flat after it’s dried. You can use these to try to get small wrinkles or small buckles out. Um, you can also use the same process to try to get some of those little cups footprints from heavy furniture that sat on the carpet for too long that is caused these downwards. Depression’s a little concave areas get a little bit damp and tried to pull it up. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 are complete carpet.
