One eight, four, nine, four, seven, zero, nine. Three. Um, wanted to talk to this episode about how we started complete carpet. Um, kind of go through some of the history of what got us there. I think one of the main driving factors for starting any business is that you see a need, you see a service that somebody else wants you to do and connecting with that.
[00:50] Um, I grew up in the Tulsa community, have been born and raised here, and I’ve always wanted to try to find something where I could connect with people to be able to do something that would bring value to them. Um, I think the best way that you can ever have salt or service anybody else has always by bringing them some type of something that they feel like you’ve done excellently to where there will be a desire to pay you but not just to pay you. I think one of the biggest hallmarks of any business is that somebody will desire for you to come back and do that same service second time. And so finding that right combination of what people want you to do and what you were good at, I think is in the essence of what needs to be done. And for me growing up personally, my father, he would always tell me, he said that there’s nothing that you’re going to do out there that’s just going to really strike court. Carpet cleaning Tulsa
[01:36] Very few people find work that is just the ultimate, the pinnacle of what it is they want to do. That even then, if you do find something that’s pinnacle of what you want to do, eventually it becomes work because you have to do it for 60 hours a week and then you eventually dreads. I said, get out there and become really good at something so good at something that you slowly forget that you’re even doing it anymore. It becomes second nature and where the stress of doing that job is no longer even a stress because you know all of the thing. There’s nothing that’s going to surprise you in that venture that you’re going to do, and then you will love your work. Then you will love what it is that you do because you’re good at it. So many times people miss this and they switched between jobs every year or two and they never really become good at what they’re doing.
[02:16] They never become a master of their craft and they always hate their job because they’re never really any good at it. Each time they go to work at something that’s going to freak them out or something that’s going to throw them off. Carpet cleaning Tulsa And so that’s always, this perpetual struggle is trying to figure out what is the next day going to bring for me and I’m a, you know, you end up with this interpretation, you this fear of what is going to happen, what’s coming around. Um, and it’s really, I think that that stress with drive so many people to not really enjoy their work, they’re given craft. Um, you’re run into guys who have been doing something for 20, 30, 40 years and they can just get in there and knock it out, do a fantastic quality job. And at the end of the day they walk home with her shoulders high because they knew they, they really did a great job.
[02:54] They did this. Today was the day that they were looking for. That got all accomplished. There’s so much that is missing a carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. Uh, one of the things I’ve seen so much is I’m in this generation is that the lack that people aren’t teaching their kids about the importance, the value of getting accomplishment, uh, the accomplishment of getting some work done, accomplishment of getting. I’m earning something by your own merits by actually getting out there, working hard and not receiving something because someone just gave it to but receiving something because you got out and you put some hard work. And there, there’s a huge reward in that. Um, that side of just getting things accomplished and done. I’m one part that my father used to always tell me. He said that, um, uh, that it’s, it’s more important that you do a good job then a quick job.
[03:40] It is more important that you do an equitable job than, than getting paid the most and said if you want to get out there and find the people who have been in business the longest, who were, um, you know, the happiest with their lives. It’s almost always the good old boys and it’s not someone who got out there and was able to scam 15 to 20 customers. That said, most the time if you’ve got somebody, if you really look into the life of someone who’s out there trying to make a quick buck, it’s normally because they are have had people doing the same thing. They’ve gone out there, they’ve done too much. They’ve overextended themselves and now they’re trying to find a fast way to get out of their problems and they may be able to find a fast way to gather problems for the short term, but the problem is that they’re going to run into that same problem.
[04:16] Again, it’s A. I think I’ve always equated it to real similarly to people who are happy and the people who are her angry all the time. If you’ve got someone who just has a an ear type personality that just walks around with a cloud over their head all the time, then they’re going to bring negative energy to an environment and everybody they run into is going to be negative because they’re feeding off of that negative energy. Carpet cleaning Tulsa The person’s bringing to the to the environment, whereas you find those people are just always a ray of sunshine. They’re always just a pollyanna type of person. They’re always like an annie who’s just just always up there, just they’re just a positive uptight person all the time and then everyone around them just can’t help but smile. They. It brings life. It brings joy into their life as well, and I think that work is just the same way.
[04:56] If you walk into work and you’re just dreading what it is that you’re going to do, your work will become a self fulfilling prophecy of not being anything that you like and never really bringing joy into your life. But if you can get out there and really learn your craft, really learn what is it you’re going to do and become an expert at it. You then we’ll find at one day you’re just going to walk into work and you’re gonna leave work and you’re gonna have enjoyed the day because you have accomplished what it is you did. There’s a sense of a purpose and there’s a sense of reliance that other people have because you’ve become an expert. People need you for that type of field. [05:34] Sometimes experience is the only way to really vet out a good, good advice and to actually have to get out there and learn it yourself. You always wish that you could just pass that knowledge onto somebody and they would just stick with them, but sometimes you have to find it out for yourself.
