In this episode we’re going to talk about some of the techniques and some of the things that we do for testing and also for changing our practices over the year.
[00:58] In the last 20 years. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. We have made some adjustments and changes to the best practices and what we do because over that 20 year period, um, some of the options that are available in the cleaning industry have have changed slightly. Most of the chemicals have not changed greatly. Some of them have become a little bit more efficient and then a lot of them have become a lot more environmentally friendly or a lot more clean rinse formula as to where you can use them without worrying about things I’m staying or lasting that long in the carpet so it keeps the carpet healthy and fresh longer. Also, one of the things that’s important in doing dealing with chemicals that you on a regular base basis want to make sure that you’re staying on top of what has changed in the protection side of carpet.
[01:41] One thing that a lot of people don’t think through or don’t realize, or maybe there’s carpet cleaners who just don’t care, is that if you’re using extremely harsh chemicals are really strong, high ph chemicals. They have the capacity to strip off the carpet protected. That’s all in the new carpets from the factory. Now there’s two sides to it and we deal with this quite often, especially with landlords and are people who have carpet that just needs to be restored instead of replaced is that we do have the capacity to get in there and use extremely harsh chemicals because sometimes that’s what’s needed for a situation. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. One of the things I’ve seen many times where we’ll get in and we’re not there to maintain this carpet. We’re there to save it and sometimes when you’re trying to save carpet, you’re wanting to pull out the strongest, the biggest, the baddest chemicals that are available.
[02:26] Now, have you used that on new carpet is going to pull the carpet, protect it right off the carpet because it’s going to be too strong in harsh. It’s going to pull everything off that carpet. carpet cleaning Tulsa Now it may not make it totally restore it to clean status, but it is going to break down the thing that is going to help that carpet to stay clean and so we need to be careful with the carpet, a chemical that we are choosing to use and making sure that we are always trying to give it its best chance to be able to stay clean and alive. But you’ve got those situations where somebody will call in and or or wants something done and they say, look, I’m about to replace this carpet. Can you come out and just throw everything you’ve got at it and see if there’s some way that we can get this so that it’ll either pass inspection so that either the next customer or the next tenant can be able to to get one more life out of it.
[03:10] Or A. I just want to make. I can’t replace the carpet and on the budget to replace it. I gotta sell this House. I want to make it look as good as I can so that people are more willing to buy it. Then not. And so in those situations we can come in there and use some really strong hot, heavy chemicals that we’re not worried about taking the, um, the protective coating off the carpet because the carpet is so damaged that it wouldn’t matter. carpet cleaning Tulsa We’re just trying to make it look good. But for all the other jobs we out there, we always make sure that it’s generation five regeneration, six safe to where we can use a chemical that strong enough to break up the dirt and the debris that’s on the carpet but not so strong that will, that it will break off or remove the cover protective on the carpet that’s protecting the fiber itself.
[03:48] This is very important to make that distinct delineation that distinguish, distinguish between what is going to help to break up and break down the dirt and what is going to break down or break up the carpet. Very careful that you have to make sure that you’re being careful between those two things. And one of the things that we do here at complete carpet, carpet cleaning, Tulsa’s and our fiber is that, um, I love to try out new product. I always do a thorough batch of testing with them. Every time I get a new machine or I get a new wand or trying to process or way of cleaning carpet I get out and an either in my own home or I’ve got some test pieces of carpet that we’ll use to where I get out there and say, okay, here’s my old machine, here’s my new machine. carpet cleaning Tulsa
[04:24] Um, which one can produce more heat? And how often does it do it? I think it’s really important with any tool or anything that you use that you put a good amount of practice time, a good amount of study time into how does this work and how does it best, how can it be best be used so many times with a little bit of explanation. People are able to use their small in home carpet cleaning units in a proper way that they just had no idea that wasn’t supposed to use that way. I’ve had customers that went over and would use a carpet cleaning tool to clean up a spot because nobody had instructed or told them about how it should be used. They use it in properly, they’ll put it in one spot, just pull the trigger without moving the one and they just flood an area with a bunch of water and it has no capacity. carpet cleaning Tulsa
[05:01] That little small units don’t, aren’t able to suck up that much water all at once and so they ended up getting the corporate wet, spreading the spot until it’s really big and the carpets ends up smelling bad, kind of a mildew, moldy, musty smell because it just, they didn’t have the right technique, have the right knowledge of how to use it, so we always make sure we break down any new piece of equipment, find out exactly how much heat does it produce, how much suction does it have? How much water can we use? How quickly does the one need to move and test dry times versus scrubbing times. Test out new chemicals to see how quickly they break the spot down so that we can use the least amount of water to be able to rinse it out. Make sure when we rent it out that we are actually getting it all out.
[05:35] Go back and test that carpet check to see if there’s any of that chemical left in there, and so all of these things are really important. Every time you start in a new process or add something different that you have a good thorough knowledge of how does this work and what is it going to affect our customers.
