Not In the specifics of your situation but just in general, certain situations to figure out what it is that you’re trying to accomplish and that is really what everyone that anyone that asks us this question.
[00:55] Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. I’ve had so many times where I’ve had to answer this question to try to help navigate somebody through their carpet, um, process of making that decision. What is important to you at any point? I’ve had many times where I will have a, a husband and wife team that will come in and the wife will say, um, are these carpets so dirty that we need to replace them? Uh, or the husband will say, um, these carpets come can be cleaned, right? We don’t need to replace them. And both those two questions are, has a backend agenda. The person is wanting to make sure they save the carpet or the person is wanting to make sure that they replaced the carpet and they’re trying to get a professional opinion to back up their decision. And so at the end of the day, their carpet is a per personal preference.
[01:42] I can always get a carpet clean and sanitary. The question of whether I can get it to the point that you are going to be happy with it if you’re unhappy with the carpet to begin with. Um, I, you know, sometimes it’s better that you have, if you’ve already made your particular decision that you’re just wanting to have better looking carpet, then it may be time for you to just upgrade. That’s maybe what you’re looking for because you know, sometimes you can’t break down or wear out that carpet. You may want to upgrade the carpet, make it look different or better before it’s time to be replaced. carpet cleaning Tulsa Um, sometimes though, you’re honestly looking to see if you can get any more life out of your carpet that you can. And there are a few times I’ve had to tell people, Yep, it’s time to be replaced because there’s enough damage or the cost of repairing it is more, is getting too close to the cost of replacing it.

My breakdown for anything that I repair versus replace is if it ever gets within, if I have to spend more than 30 percent of the value of the item than it, I think it’s better to replace it and get a brand new item that’s gonna last a long time as opposed to spend no more than 30 percent on an item. And just get a little bit more time because if one thing’s breaking down, more than likely there’s other things that are going to come in behind it too. That also can break down. One of the things I think that’s important when making this decision is figuring out what is your goal? What is your purpose? This particular room or this particular carpet that you’re trying to accomplish? Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. I’ve heard so many different examples and reasons for why they want to keep or to replace the carpet.
[03:10] That ranges from wanting to get rid of the smell from some other person. Whether it’d be just a mental sanitation issue that you’re just, you just don’t like the carpet. Want something fresh, whether it be dated. Uh, you’ve got old green shag carpet. The carpet in great shape. I’d be able to clean it, make it look fantastic, but you’re just not want green shag carpet. And so it’s time to change it because of your personal preference. Other times the carpet is falling apart and it needs to be replaced, but you do not have the budget to replace the carpet. carpet cleaning Tulsa So you’re looking for just making it clean and sanitary so that you can be able to continue to live on it without fear that you’re in something really nasty and mucky and so you have to sit down and figure out what it is you want to do.
[03:50] Another part that’s really important, I think with replacing carpet is deciding why you’re replacing the carpet. Is this for you to enjoy yourself or is this because you’re getting ready to try to sell the home and you’re needing to try to get it fixed up for someone else. Um, and this comes down to probably one of the big reasons that I get asked a lot is can we make it passable? Is for a general rule of thumb, do not replace your carpet to be able to sell. You will not get any value out of selling a home with new carpet compared to selling a home. With good looking carpet, you’ll just put five to $10,000 in carpet into that home only to find out that the carpet, that the house will still sell for the same amount of prices if you had just cleaned the carpets. carpet cleaning Tulsa
[04:30] Now, um, if your carpets are a negative to the house and it’s going to deter somebody from buying it, then you may need to replace the carpet just so that you can get the value of the home that you’re wanting to get you. You need to restore the condition of the home back to a good sellable state. A good example of this is if you’ve got a huge amount of koolaid stains in the living room, the first copy walk into, so someone walks in and they see all these big red splotches all over the carpet that cannot be cleaned out. Then it’s best to replace that carpet so that you can have a visual look that’s going to appeal to somebody if you’ve got really bad pet damage, sometimes you can get smells or odors are stains in the carpet. They just can’t come out.
[05:07] Um, but for the most part, most carpets can be cleaned and make look, make it look good comparatively to replace it all the carpets, the negative side I’ve seen a few times on people who have replaced all the carpets is that you have to make sure that you’re picking something very neutral and the carpet you replace with one person replaced the carpet with a kind of a teal, teal color carpet that they just love. They thought looked great. They had a really hard time selling the carpet house because even though they had brand new carpet, the carpet was a color that nobody really wanted. And it was really difficult for a new person that buying your home to walk into the carpet in the helmet and say, okay, this was brand new and I’m going to rip out all this brand. I’m going to take $5,000 worth of good carpet thought away so I can put carpet in there that looks the way that I would like it to look. Uh, so we’d love to cover more topics like this.
