I was trying to complete my plan quickly and so I knew that all I needed to do was to quickly go across and jump in and I would be able to go over and start riding lawn mower and take over for her from that point.

So the other details became irrelevant. Now, this is a great example of why we need to put more thought and more planning into what it is that we’re going to do because things are not going to go according to plan always. Things are sometimes going to be construed or taken out of context or just to use in a way you’re run into a situation that just, this particular formula just didn’t apply. Carpet cleaning Tulsa So in this case, I hadn’t thought ahead of what if I don’t land on the roof, what have I don’t stay on the lawn mower, what will I do then? And so here I am, I had fallen off, I reached down with my arm and it was just hurting. Now. It wasn’t like a massive break where you could see the bones sticking out, but it was definitely enough to where my arm hurts.

I mean it was a lot of hurt enough to kind of like start, you know, seven year old boy doesn’t want to have to say that he hadn’t done it correctly. But now you’re starting to tear up a little bit going. Maybe I didn’t do it quite correctly, perfectly. And in Tulsa since 1998 we are complete carpet and a, so I make my way up to the front door and I knock on the door and my mom comes around and I’m kind of sniffly a little bit like Mama, I, I fell and I think I hurt my arm. And the hurt arm of the little boy standing in front of her was eclipsed by something else. She caught out of the corner of her eye. Now there’s another part that a mother has that instinctually assesses the situation to look for what part of this particular situation is, is the most pressing problem or danger.

And so she looked at me and whatever I was saying with more like Walt, Walt, Walt, Walt, Walt, Walt, because she looked right past me and saw her four year old, five year old little girl on a riding lawnmower going full speed. Carpet cleaning Tulsa Because unfortunately for her, she’s freaking out now because she’s driving and she, her brave, very brave older brother had not taught her any other instruction outside of put it into gear and go. And so she’s still going. She is still driving back and forth across the front of the yard in the riding lawnmower and I’m not sure if she was crying out of excitement or crying because she didn’t know what was she supposed to do next. But either way she’s like, your sister is on the riding lawnmower that I have instructed you on how to ride and taught you how to ride.

And yet nobody has taught her or instructed her out to ride. Who made the executive decision that she is now capable of variety in the lawn mower. You better get out there this instant and rescue her from that riding lawn mower. And so I sprint out there, get on the right and lot more, pull it back out of gear, drive it back over, stuff it and let her off. And of course I go over and I get a royal as I was do a royal chewing out of that. Carpet cleaning Tulsa I had let this four to five year old little girl and ride around on a lot more without any appropriate training or no knowledge of how to take care of herself or how did it ride the lawn mower. And I think that sometimes we do this in our business. We think that we’ve got everything situated and in place and doing just fine, but it only works if we’re in the driver’s seat and everyone else that we put in place, we assume, well, I mean they’ll never be in the driver’s seat.

So I don’t need to teach them how to drive. Carpet cleaning Tulsa I just need to teach them how to do the one thing that I’ve asked them to do without thinking that, hey, at some point I may not be there to do this and they won’t have any clue what they’re doing and why. And so my animation, my wish and my desire for you listening to this is that you look at what it is that you’re doing and how you can duplicate what it is you can do with other people and make sure that as you teach someone else what to do, you give them the how it all works. Talk, not just the two things that they need to know for right now, but the couple of things they need to know so that if they were in control, they would be able to keep the, um, the float, the ship afloat, so to speak, or keep the car running.
