Carpet Cleaning Tulsa | Episode 338

Speaker 1: (00:00)
This is episode 338 and carpet cleaning Tulsa is that our fiber. We’re going to talk to this episode about some of the things that you can do in choosing what carpet you would like to have in your home or to know what to expect from the carpet you have in your home. We are complete carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. We love to get out there and help you maintain the health and wellbeing of your carpets. So give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 or check us out on the web at www dot complete carpet, tulsa.com. Uh, one thing that people notice, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 is that, um, their carpets are of different types and qualities you’ll have, uh, some of the main ones most people will have noticed is either a commercial level loop, which is normally done in office buildings. There’ll be just a looped carpet.

Speaker 1: (00:54)
Um, you’ll have a commercial cut pile, which is very short, small fibers that are really dense because they’re so short. Um, you’ll have your regular residential style carpets that are more of a for say a, which is this kind of cut loose Berber that’s a little bit more, I’d call it a modern day Shag. It’s a kind of loose and floppy typically as kind of a mixed colored feel to it. And also there are straight cut piles that are more dense and flat, typically singular color. And then you have your Berberis, which are your loop carpets, but it’s more big sloughy loops. Carpet cleaning Tulsa All of these different carpets come in many different qualities and kinds of thicknesses. Um, typically your two main thing that you’re looking for is one, how dense of the carpet. They’ll call it an ounce rating. And this is how many ounces are in an area of carpet, uh, the, there the same amount of area per carpet for each type of carpets.

Speaker 1: (01:47)
There’s going to be a comparison to comparison, but sometimes those numbers can be deceiving because if I have a carpet, it’s only a half an inch thick, or I’d have a carpet that’s one inch thick, the density, the carpet will feel completely different on the half inch thick carpet compared to the one inch thick. Because remember that it’s that many ounces of fiber in an area. So if the fibers are say only a quarter inch high, they’re going to be really, really, really densely packed in to get to a high, say 50 or 60 ounce carpet because it has to get that many ounces in of weight in that area. But the fiber can only be this long. Whereas if you got say one or two inch long fibers, the fibers are being very sparse and floppy because it has four or five times as much fiber for every one fiber.

Speaker 1: (02:31)
And so 50 ounces won’t seem quite as dense or thick. So keep that in your back of your mind as you’re choosing which carpet. We always tell our cart customers carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we tell our customers that, um, you can look at all the specs and details and highlights and um, the numbers of a carpet, but the reality is you just put a piece of carpet down on the floor and just feel it. Just kind of stand on it, touch it. I even tell people to put up to their face, you know, let feel that carpet if that’s a carpet that you want to enjoy having in your home or laying on a cause, you’re going to spend a lot of time, your walls and your floors are your two things that you’re spending a lot of time and normally are carpeted areas in a house are going to be areas that you use on a regular basis.

Speaker 1: (03:12)
So you don’t want to put something in there that you just don’t want to walk on knee alon or sit on a comparatively Berber carpets or looped carpet, uh, as opposed to the cup piles up. Piles have a one u shaped fiber that’s cut on each end. So the bottom of it and are connected, but the tops are cutoff. Whereas a Berber carpet, it’s all connected. Carpet cleaning Tulsa So you have one fiber that runs from one side of the room together and there’s another row that has another five that goes on one side of the room to the other. And so it was kind of like rows of corn but to all the rows of corn or connect together. So for one loop pups free. All the rest of the loops next to it can all be pulled from that one loop. Uh, this is really important and we advise all of our customers to make sure that if you do have a loop in your Berber carpet pop free to grab a pair of scissors and cut it off flush with the carpet.

Speaker 1: (03:56)
That way the cannot catch in a vacuum. A dog doesn’t see it or cat doesn’t see and try to grab and pull on it. Or as you’re moving something across the floor, it doesn’t catch it and pull. Carpet cleaning Tulsa his 1998 one thing that we advise all of our customers also to be careful with with when you’re dealing with Berber carpet is when you move stuff across it, use a slider or pick it up and carry it directly. If you drag something across Berber carpet is very high chance that you will catch one of the loops and Yank them and then as you’re moving along it’ll just keep pulling and unraveling that loop across the room and I’ve seen many times where somebody will end up with a long run all the way across the room of a row of carpet because it’s just been sitting there and got yanked and polls are caught in maybe the vacuum or the dog grabbed it and just kept tugging on it like a little tug of war and then now they’ve got this big run right across the middle of the living room, which is the downside of Berber carpet is that it’s very easy to damage and it causes a big problem right across the middle.

Speaker 1: (04:52)
The upside is that it lasts for a long time is since it is a loop, instead of a straight line, it as it starts to wear that lives just a little flatter. They don’t really do anything else. They don’t move anywhere else, so it can be, I’ve seen Berber up to 30 years old that still looks almost brand new. The majority of Berber carpet cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber. The majority of Burgers made of an Olson fiber. The downside to that is that is rough on your knees. You get down into your knees and crawl around on it. You’re going to rub your knees raw pretty quick. The upside is that it’s pretty hard to get dirty and it’s pretty hard to stay in it and it will last a long time. Now it is more difficult to clean because all of the dirt does clean out of it, but it’s got loops so the dirt can get trapped in the loops instead of just on the fibers.

Speaker 1: (05:33)
So it’s harder to clean through the fibers since there’s a whole loop with a bunch of knotted fibers to take a little extra work and a little extra time, but it typically cleans up looking very nice. Uh, it’s great in a commercial aspect and also in Nice high end homes and I’ve seen it work well as for rental carpets too, because the loops can last for a long time. Just remember to take good care of your loop so that they do not start to fall out or break free because that will unravel the carpet, which causes unsightly lines in the carpet. They really can’t be fixed easily. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are complete carpet. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 carpet cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber.
