I want to talk today about the importance of a dry times. Um, the, with everything that you do, you want to make sure that you’re doing two parts to it. One, uh, you want to get the fiber cleans. You want it to be thoroughly rinsed. If you don’t thoroughly rinse the fiber and get out the dirt and debris that’s in it than the carpet is not truly getting cleaned. But sometimes, uh, somebody trying to get that, uh, that process to happen quickly neglects to also factor in the dry time. Need to make sure that you also get the carpet as dry as possible so that it will, uh, get back to its normal state quicker.
Speaker 1: (00:55)
Adapt carb is going to collect more dirt. Also, the longer something stays down, the more likely it is to have problems or caused problems. One of the reasons that a, a rug doctor has had historically has had so many problems that people use them but then ended up complaining that the carpet ends up smelling or that there’s problems after using it is that they do not have enough suction to match the flow of water. And so sometimes people will turn the water flow up to try to compensate to be able to clean faster. But the reality is is that unit can only clean it a certain speed. Carpet cleaning Tulsa Think of it this way, if you have a small lawn mower that say’s got a three horse power engine and you went over to try to mow over very quickly, knee high grass, um, each time you go over that grass it’s going to bog and bog down the mower and kill it because it just, it’s too thick of Ras for the power of the engine has to spin the blade.
Speaker 1: (01:54)
Um, but he came in there with a zero turn. It could probably go across the grass, not too bad, but if you went to waist high grass, even a zero turn with a big, big engine on it. And a big deck, we get bogged down because the grass would be too thick for it to cut. So then you’d have to switch to a brush hog. Something had a lot more power and really big blades and could just lock down all of the stuff that goes across like the big, big tractor pulled, um, deck mowers and they are able to mow and entire swell at once. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 I think this is a good analogy to different types of carpet cleaning machines out there and that if you went out there, even tried to weed eat and something waist-high you’re gonna tie the weed eater up with all of the grass that’s getting trapped into there.
Speaker 1: (02:41)
And so something that’s really dirty for a light cleaning, for just a maintenance cleaning or cleaning up one spot rug doctor or this’ll or Hoover, all the little different units. They actually work pretty well for getting the carpet’s clean. As long as you’re getting something that’s fresh and quick and easy, that problems come. Once you go in to trying to clean the whole house and you start becoming impatience or you start trying to move faster than that unit is able to, and the unit will bog down, it will leave water behind that it can’t suck back up. Carpet cleaning Tulsa And then you’d go over it again at the same speed and there’s uh, trying to get the spots out, but you’re leaving too much water. So the spots just keeps spreading without giving an appropriate matter suck time. Most of the time. For most situations, you need to have one dry stroke to w every wet stroke. Carpet cleaning Tulsa
Speaker 1: (03:28)
Um, so that may be that you only put water down and you suck on your way back up. Or it could be that you cleaned down and up and then come back and clean it again without water doing a suction stroke up and down again. Uh, so you need to find out what it is because the main reason you’re not wanting to leave a moisture in the carpet because oyster sits in the carpet for too long and it will, will start to break down the backing of the carpet, start to soften up those glues. Carpet cleaning Tulsa Secondarily, if moisture stays in a fabric too long and we’ll start to mold and mildew because now you’ve created an environment where something stays where it’s like a petri dish. You know, you could, there’s mold, mildew, there’s all kinds of stuff just everywhere. Um, so the water, the moisture, whatever you did didn’t create it.
Speaker 1: (04:12)
It was there to begin with. It just fed it. It just watered the plant. Like by water, the yard, whatever seeds are in the ground are going to grow. I didn’t create the plants that are in the ground. They already were there and we watered them. Giving them the opportunity to disrupt and to grow, to germinate. That germination process takes a certain amount of time so it stays wet for four or five, six, eight, 12 hours. It’s not long enough for all those things to germinate. So I’ve just gotten wet and then they dry out. But if you stays wet for 18 to 24 hours, that’s an insufficient amount of time for all those things start germinating and starts to smell funky. We’ve all noticed this before, especially in Oklahoma is if you don’t lay out your towel after taking a shower, if you don’t hang it somewhere to let it drive, you leave it a clump on the floor the next day it will still be a comp on the floor and still be wet because we have higher humidity.
Speaker 1: (05:06)
And so it does, we haven’t given it a sufficient amount of time to dry as far as different types of carpet, dry time. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 I’ve seen this many times where the different type of carpet we’ll dry at different times and this isn’t because the carpets are better or worse at drying as much as it is how much fiber there is in the carpet itself. And so, uh, if you look at a commercial grade carpet that’s very fit and hard packed short fiber, you’ve got little quarter inch fibers and so they can dry really quick because there’s only a quarter inch of fiber and all pretty much all of it is exposed to the air. But if you go on those big fluffy mat like rugs, that two inch long fibers, um, they’re going to take a tremendously longer amount of time to drive. Maybe one will take an 30 minutes to the hour or the other.
Speaker 1: (05:55)
We’ll take, you know, six to eight hours to dry because you now have three, five, six times as much fiber sitting there. They got wet. So it’s gonna take three to four times as long to dry because there’s just more. Think of like a beach towel, which can dry in 2030 minutes versus a bath towel. They can stay wet all night if it’s not hung properly. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are completed carpet.
