Speaker 1: (00:00)
This is episode three 59 we are complete carpet, Carpet cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093. Uh, one of the things I think is important as we are working through a different aspects of business and different aspects of life is that you understand why you’re doing something. Everyone’s got a different reason for what they want to accomplish and how they want to do it. Uh, sometimes that reason is valorous. Sometimes that reason is nefarious. Sometimes that reason is selfish and sometimes that reason is out to going like your self less. You’re looking at to the good of others, not just of yourself. Um, and it’s sometimes a hidden reason, something that we don’t even realize. We’re just operating underneath a set of guidance, a set of laws instead of a process that were set before us. And I was at a business conference long ago and they got us all up and they asked us to, uh, explain and say, how many decisions in a day do you think that you make? Carpet cleaning Tulsa

Speaker 1: (01:03)
How many decisions are you making per day? And so the keyword here was decision. And so we thought, oh well obviously they wouldn’t ask us if it was 100% because it’s gotta be a trick question. So we guessed 40% another desk, 60 and other guests, 90 another guest, 50 another I guess 60 is a bunch of different gases all on the kind of the middle range is all over the all over the map. And they came out and they said, well you actually make less than 1% of your decisions in a day. Less than 5% of your decision than a day depending on the day. Because the majority of them are reactions and not decisions. We claim that our reactions are a decision and it is a decision that you made at some point in the past and now you’re acting on that decision. Carpet cleaning Tulsa So you’re reacting to the situation based upon a set of principles you already have in place.

Speaker 1: (01:54)
You didn’t add that moment. Decide am I going to hold the door for this person or am I not? You didn’t look at the person and try to judge their character and try to size up whether they would be, um, with, you’d get a proper reward in heaven. If you had actually given this person, this door holding experience, the most luxurious, awesome door holding experience you’d ever had by the, just the grace with which you would hold the handle. No, you either you were going to open the door or you were not going to open the door for somebody regardless of who it was. Because some people are wired that they’re going to do something kind for others. They’re going to pay it forward. And other people say, I’m not even, it’s not even on my radar. They don’t even have to be a bad person. Carpet cleaning Tulsa

Speaker 1: (02:33)
They just don’t know about door holding. They think, well, why would I hold the door for them? I would deprive them of the opportunity to hold the door. I actually saw a post on Facebook once that was shown to me by a good friend and it was of a young lady who is just very upset, um, at a guy who had gone before her and held the door and she literally enter post just berated this guy for holding the door or talking about him saying, you know, I can’t believe that men think were so inferior and so weak and wimpy that we can’t even get our own door. Oh, you know, don’t degrade me in that way because this, you know, I am strong enough to get my own door. I am strong enough to take care of my own life. You don’t have to try to treat me like a little baby that can’t even open their own door.

Speaker 1: (03:17)
And so for that particular person, that guy thought he was doing something [inaudible] something kind and to her she was being insulted is the same action was being done to both people. And yet one took it as an offense and one took it as a prideful moment. Like, oh my, I feel like I’m doing something kind of going out of my way to do something. But both of those two people’s reactions were not a choice that they made. Right then. They already had made that choice long ago that I do not like people holding the door for me. And it had built up enough that she finally decided to say something about it. He already had thought I’m, I do hold the lower the door for a lady. And so that’s what he was there doing. He was going to hold the door for a lady carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 and I actually had a few customers.

Speaker 1: (04:01)
Um, um, I personally think that there’s just, I’ve got my own internal belief that you just do good into the world. Like our purpose, our point, our reason for being here is to improve our lives. And most people, that is what they do all the time. You could say even the worst person you’ve, uh, you’ve see in these, uh, post interviews after some horrific event has happened for somebody who just, everyone can’t believe this type of person is things. But if you go talk to the people that knew them, they’re completely blown away because they’re like, well, I mean, I didn’t see it coming. He was a very kind person. He was nice. He helped at soccer fields, he helped with the baseball team. He was always, you know, volunteering in places and then he snapped and did something awful. But if you look at people’s lives overall, they do a lot of good into the world.

Speaker 1: (04:49)
And then one or two snaps of really bad evil may happen. But overall we typically, we don’t just drive our cars, crashing it. Every car we see, we don’t walk in stealing every item of food that we get. We for the most part, pay for it. I love to, as I was watching a brain games Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998, uh, we are complete carpet watching a brain games and they had did it and, uh, a study where they went into a coffee shop, had the lady at behind the cash register give people incorrect change. And so they did it in two different ways. One, the lady was very kind and nice to people and to the first lady was a complete jerk and really mean to people, ignoring them, telling them the weight, not, not taking the order. I’m making them, you know, uh, have to suffer through the ordering process.

Speaker 1: (05:38)
And both times they would give them change for about 50 bucks instead of the $10 that they give him them. And with the kind lady, um, if the exception of one person, every single person over an hour long period gave back the, uh, the extra change that they hadn’t given her, she gave her change and say, okay, it’s $10. So here, let me give you a 20, 30, 40, 50. There you go. And then she just walk away and they all kind of hunter down and find her. And even the rude lady, I said, Rude Lady. Three people tried to keep it. So he did triple the number of people that were willing to keep the money. But the other 45 people that went through that, even though she was an awful rude person, they still felt bad about taking money they hadn’t earned, taking something that wasn’t rightfully theirs. And I think that that to me is what the human experience really is, is that we’re going around doing good throughout our lives. We are looking to find ways to better our situation, make it better than we found it. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are complete carpet.
