Uh, one thing I think that’s important for people to remember when picking a carpet cleaning company or getting your carpet cleaned yourself is the capacity for powerful suction. carpet cleaning Tulsa Uh, so many times, many units, they don’t work the way that you were hoping they would because they have a, an improper ratio between the amount of water they put down and compared to the amount of water that the unit has, the capacity to suck back up. Um, all vacuum is based upon, uh, blowing air out of somewhere. They’re all blowers. So they’re removing air out of an area to create a vacuum, a cavity of air that gets drawn in from somewhere else.

So, um, this is an important for paying attention to. Let’s say you use a small, um, ShopVac or a vacuum in this case to um, any type of suction device, you want to make sure that the air is able to get out of the unit. Uh, you’ll see this on a, um, a big scale in your, uh, dryer. If you go into your dryer, you let the lint filter clean, clog up and get all full, uh, your clothes will not be able to dry. And the main reason is that the air, the moisture inside cannot get back out. So thus it can’t remove the moisture out of the clothing through the dryer vent. Uh, the same thing in apple, your vacuum or a carpet cleaning, um, equipment where the air that is in there is unable to get back out so it’s not able to bring more air into it.

Sucking new stuff in. If you ever had a vacuum where you vacuum it across the carpets and it just shoots a, a cheerio across the floor, it’s because it’s not have enough suction to pull it up all at once. One of the things that you want to look for as to check your filters, both the canister where it collects all of the debris and dust, but also in the post filters, the ones that keep the dust in the canister from blowing into the rest of the house, they’re typically two filters. There’s one in the bottom of the canister that has a, um, a big felt pad. And there’s another one that will be kind of like a foam disc and it’ll also be a pleaded, um, front facing, uh, filter. Also, typically there’s two or three filters in all vacuums. Uh, the same thing goes for your carpet cleaning unit.

It’s gonna suck all of the moisture into a reservoir to where the water can be contained, but then also have a place where the air can get blown out. And that area there can, especially since you’re sucking in water, can start to get an accumulation of wet, muddy dust that can clog up your hoses or clog up your, um, exit ports. You want to make sure you keep it cleaned out at least once a year, if not once a month. Say a rock is sitting on the floor and someone steps on the rock. It’s going to leave a pretty big dent in the floor or it’s going to get ground into the carpet. Also, the, um, dust and debris that sits there, the high humidity, low humidity of the Oklahoma weather will also have a profound effect on the carpet because now it turns into this gritty, Umm, paste in your carpet that really can break down both the fibers but also the backing, which causes the carpet to, um, deteriorate much faster. Um, it’s important to remember that although you may have used a vacuum and it feels like it’s working well, that you also pay attention to how old the vacuum is. All vacuums have a certain number of years they’re designed to last. Um, if you get a $100 vacuum, there’s probably about 10 or $15 worth of motor in there. And that smaller lighter motor typically does not wear as well as say a heavier, more expensive motor can. And so many times people will get it back home and think that they can use it for eight to 10 or 15 years when really it’s only designed to last for about five years. After five years, the motors just worn out now won’t quit working. It just does not produce the volume of suction that it used to. So it would say that the amount of noise, the amount of suction you could do as a 10 over the five years of his life, it drops down to a five. So it cuts it in half. The volume of air can blow out of the vacuum, so it can only suck in so much. Even though the beater bar can knock up the beater bar is just there to um, brush the carpet and throw the stuff that’s in the carpet up into the air so that the suction can then grab it and pull it in. So if it’s not able to suck it and pull it in, then you get a vacuum that just brushes the carpet but leaves all the dirt in it.

Same thing can happen with a carpet cleaning machine or a rug doctor was rug doctors run to this a lot is that uh, they’re not maintained as well as they should be. Also that people typically use them full trigger when all your should only use the um, trigger on the downstroke where you’re sucking the water backup that you’re putting down as opposed to using the upstroke where you’re putting water down. That doesn’t get sucked up. Uh, we do this in our own carpet cleaning equipment. Even though we’ve got large machines, they can do, um, a lot of carpet cleaning and pull all the water back out.
