Carpet Cleaning Tulsa | Episode 369 | Complete Carpet
Carpet Cleaning Tulsa | Episode 369
Speaker 1: (00:01)
This is episode three 69. We are complete carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. Wanted to continue on with a thought process on uh, how you should, uh, how you should apply the golden rule. So many times we look at the golden rule as a, uh, as a way of behaving or a behavior pattern that we may or may not agree with or we may or may not do. We, we know that it’s good. We know that we should do that, but we don’t, don’t do it. We think that we don’t do it or we think that we do do it. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa And I wanted to interject something to make a more broad scope approach to what the golden rule could be because we always say do unto others as you’d have them do unto you. So we typically talk it in the negative as almost always a negative approach or negative connotation to the way that people will apply it.
Speaker 1: (00:47)
Obviously it’s not meant to be a negative connotation, but we take it that way. Like, Oh, if this guy is mean to me, I’m going to get people being mean back to me. Or if this person’s nice to me, I’m going to be nice back to them, but I want to take it and give a wider perspective of something that we intrinsically already know. We just don’t apply it in the same way. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 I’ve seen this and every carpet cleaning and every interaction, every transaction that we’ve done is that if we show up on time that our customers are going to be more timely because they expect us to be on time. If I show up late, you eventually expect them to be late, so your customers will be late. Everyone has that family gathering where you’ve got one guy who just perpetually social blade or whoever’s hosting the party, you know, if they’re the guy type of person that’s gonna show up 45 minutes after or when you get to their house, they’re going to be, oh yeah, we just started making the stuff.
Speaker 1: (01:34)
You’re like, well, yes, but we were supposed to start right now. They’re like, yes, that’s what we did. We started getting ready right now. You’re like, well, okay, the, I know the next time I come here I should be 30 minutes, an hour late because they won’t start to get ready until the time they claimed that you were supposed to be there. And so you can change the whole perspective of somebody’s expectation because you know, if you are going to meet somebody and they’re one of the people that are on time going to be there and prompt you, that makes you an on time prompt person also because you did unto others as you’d have them do unto you. So you did it to them. You showed up timely and prompt. They will return be timely and prompt. Also, if you’re the type of person that always over delivers, then the customer in response is going to a simple side.
Speaker 1: (02:14)
Anytime we answer the phone, we just use high energy. And I’ve had plenty of people answer the phone very, um, kind of more [inaudible] or or down or a little quiet or down. And then they hear us and I respond in a very positive, upbeat IX excited way and I can 90% of the time always the person will then respond and go from down and they’ll, we’ll go up and I’m like, oh good. It’s you. Cause they will catch. It’s like, uh, it’s like having a cold. They catch that, um, that excitement. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa They catch that thrive. And if you want to know whether this is true or not, go to every single big pop or rock concert or country concert out there. You go in there and all these people are walking in there and the, um, the singer, the stage performer is up there on stage and they are full of, they are high energy and they get out there and they just, they don’t just kind of come out and say, well, hello people.
Speaker 1: (03:04)
They come out there and really blasted out and say, you know, Gosh, it’s so good to be here in this great state, the great state of Oklahoma in this beautiful town of Tulsa knock. Everyone’s already started getting jazzed up because he’s complimenting everything about them. And so they’re going to be really get into cheering. They’re really going to get into singing along with the songs because they’re connecting to the artists. They connect it to that energy. I’m on a very simple side. If I pay, um, let’s say $1,000 for a plane ticket to Hawaii, um, the, there is now, I’ve now put, I’ve done to others, I’ve paid them for something, I’ve given him my property. And now the onus is on that company to say, okay, well I need to provide the service that you’ve paid for. It would be really weird for me to give a company $1,000, and then they not give me the plane ticket because we’ve exchanged goods for services and they’ve given them my money for their, their service.
Speaker 1: (03:56)
And so I think the golden rule applies in all different aspects of our lives, that whatever we invest into, if I get a higher quality guests, I’m going to get a higher quality performance out of my vehicle. If I have a slower Internet, I’m going to get slower download times. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa I get, you know, it’s a cause and effect. It makes sense because I invested, I bought, I purchased, I got a a slower Internet so my movie will buffer more often or I’ll get a lower call quality download. And yet somehow we think in our interactions and all the rest of the applications of the golden rule that somehow that doesn’t apply that well. I can just be who I, I just need to be real. I just, you know, I can’t lie. I can’t not tell what I’m really thinking. And the reality is that that’s not what you’re really thinking.
Speaker 1: (04:40)
I think that’s the hardest part for so many of us to understand is that in that moment, that’s what you think. That’s what you’re think. That’s what you’re experiencing for that moment. But as a, there’s a great, great guy, can’t remember. It’s one of the m o one of those famous business books and they talk about how I said, never assume that the way that somebody feels in the moment is an indication of their permanent state of mind. So many times the way we feel, the way we think in a certain circumstance can change. It can fluctuate minute by minute, can fluctuate day by day or week by week, month by month, and all of a sudden the next time you see them, whatever it was that was just dragging them down, doesn’t drag them down anymore. And so to try to say that I am being honest about what I’m doing.
Speaker 1: (05:23)
And I think that’s why we have the old adage. We’ve, we’ve also, I would love to connect this to the golden rule also is to see no evil, hear no evil, see no evil. And why is it that you don’t want to have those different aspects all connected together is because seeing, hearing and saying evil will eventually that’s due under others. Eventually you will respond in like kinds if you’re around. Um, if you’re around people who curse a lot of, eventually at some point you’ll start cursing just because that’s the natural way your body will become used to that, that speech pattern, that sound, that thoughts. And so eventually you’ll become to do the same thing. If I’m around people who, um, wear cowboy hats all the time, eventually I’m probably going to be working cowboy hats. Or if I’m around basketball players, eventually I’m going to wear wearing and one shorts, you know, whatever it is that I’m doing. Eventually I will continue to do it and more for you and see, depending on who I hang out with, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are complete carpet.
