Speaker 1: (00:00)
This is episode three 79. We are complete carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 Carpet Cleaning Tulsa in our fiber. Um, one thing I think we all like is to have a positive um, experience. Um, it’s interesting that all of our experiences are based upon our perception of what we view reality to be. Um, that there’s a new movie out recently, a vendor’s end game. And if you took 10 people that went to go see that movie and they all went to see the movie, they all come out and we got 10 critics, all 10 of them are going to have some type of a different take on what the, uh, what the movie was like. One may say there was too much action, one will say there wasn’t enough really heartfelt emotion. As one said it was too fast.

Speaker 1: (00:53)
One, we’ll say it’s too long. They will all have a different view, a different perspective on that particular movie. But if you look at the movie as a, you know, as a set it Scott, they all viewed, they all saw there wasn’t a different movie. Each person saw, they saw the exact same content. They saw the same thing as the way the movie portrayed or the way that it was unfolding. It was, you know, every single movie saw the same scene. The action was exactly the same. They didn’t portray this move. It’s not like a play where maybe you saw an actor on as good night or bad night. They all saw the exact same video. And yet they come across with 10 vastly different perspectives. And the reason they have those 10 vastly different perspective is because they have a different viewpoint. They sought through the lens of their own experiences.

Speaker 1: (01:40)
And it’s very difficult to separate yourself from those experiences to say, Hey, I’m in this particular circumstance. Um, we had a, you know, I had a, a negative feeling or I had a, a kickback on something that if you actually had talked with the person or had gone through and figured out what it was, you’d realize that you probably were mistaken or even if you weren’t mistaken, then why let it bother you as the old adage be like water off a duck’s back to where it just kind of beads up and rolls off. It doesn’t stick to you. Um, and we kind of want to have that approach through life. But so many times things will get into our claw. We’ll have, um, you know, something that’s just really aggravates us or gets under our skin and we just can’t do anything to get rid of it. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa.

Speaker 1: (02:23)
And because of that, we end up with um, things that we behave or we act in a way that we are not becoming to us. It’s the age old problem of I can’t believe I did that. Who are the two different eyes in that sentence? Obviously you’re still one person yet there’s two vastly different people that you are comparing yourself against. And a lot of these are what we’d call second nature or just habitual patterns, things that when we’ve done them or we’ve reacted quickly in a emotional state that we have reacted in a way that our logical mind who does not agree with, um, sometimes that’s it protects us, it keeps us moving instinctually, quickly gets us out of danger. Uh, other times it kicks in when we don’t want it to soldiers that had come back from war or deal with this because the PTSD will kick in which puts them into a fight or flight.

Speaker 1: (03:12)
So their logical mind gets pushed to the side and all of a sudden their emotional state gets um, uh, highlighted, it gets heightened and they are not in a tense or a dangerous situation and yet their body is reacting as if it has, it’s gotten triggered inadvertently. Maybe a loud bang or some noise or sentence, something just triggers and puts them off to where they’re in fight or flight again. And sometimes you don’t want the fight or flight to be activated. You come into a situation and somebody says something to you and all of a sudden you feel edgy because you’re tired. Um, I have had many times throughout my years where I will have done something to realize that, hey, just because I am reading this situation as being bad doesn’t mean the situation is bad. It could mean that I’m tired. It could be that I’m misreading it. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber.

Speaker 1: (03:59)
It could be through the lens of my experience. I am misjudging what has actually happened here because I just have had three or four people in the past that have done something that seem nefarious and so this is triggering that response inside of me that says, well, because those other people were nefarious, this must also be nefarious. I connect the two events together without any actual activity that says these two things are connected. I am just personally adding in something that actually shouldn’t be there. Even though for everyone else, they would view this situation different from what I have seen because it is a different lens or the different viewpoints that they have and they’ll be like, oh no. I always trust people when they do that because that, I’ve seen people like that and they’re always trustworthy. It’s a, like the detective who can get in and quickly read a situation.

Speaker 1: (04:54)
He knows the criminal and he knows who the, the good people are because he’s talked to both and he’s talked to him enough that he’s gotta go to perspective. I have not talked enough criminals have any idea who would be trustworthy, who would not be trustworthy. It’s like one of those episodes of brain games where they take it and they see that a lot of times week make snap decisions or snap judgments about things without enough pool of knowledge and or experience. And we are nine times out of 10 completely wrong love. One of the brain games episodes actually took a guy, the main guy who’s doing it all and he actually went and, uh, uh, robbed. Somebody, ran around the building, changed clothes, came back out and pretending to be a police officer and took the statement from the people that he had just robbed about who robbed him.

Speaker 1: (05:38)
And none of them noticed that it was him. Like it was the same guy that robbed them. It was also taking a statement from them that this is the person who had done it. So I think sometimes we need to make sure that we check our emotion. Uh, I love the old phrase. It says, take the e out of the emotion. Take the emotion out of what you’re trying to do so that you can have a clearer level head. It’s also why I think we should sleep on something. Don’t make a big rash decision without having the capacity to spend time to let your logical mind process to see, is this a good decision? Yes, it’s a decision to be made, but am I making an impulse and emotion that I’m going to regret later? Or is this a positive decision that I’m going to feel really good about?
