Give us a call today and we can get you on the road to having fresh, a clean carpet to be able to enjoy your carpet once more. Uh, a lot of times you have people that want to do something amazing with their flooring surface, uh, or they want something done that is really above and beyond the scale. Um, we want to be able to set the proper expectations. Um, and I will help you now to be able to kind of manage what it is that you think can be done cause some things we can do and then we’ll just really amazed and surprise you. Other things we do, um, will be within your expectation level. And then other times it’d be slightly disappointing, right? We don’t want to disappoint anyone, but sometimes expectations have been set that just are not appropriate. Uh, to give a good example of improper expectations, we went to a clean I customers carpet.

We got in there, we started cleaning the carpet and I noticed while we’re cleaning the carpet, that the transition, the threshold going from carpet to tile into the kitchen, it was frayed and you could see the tax drips underneath. And so I let the customer know, I said, hey, if at some point in the future you wanted to get that taken care of, that’s a service we also provide. We could do the patch and then you would no longer have to be walking over the exposed tack strips. You can now just have it repaired back to where it looked normal again. And the customer looked at me and he said, oh no, that can’t be done. I’m thinking inside. I want to immediately argue with him. Well, I just said it could be done. Do you not? You think that I’m a liar. But of course that wouldn’t achieve anything.

It wouldn’t help the situation. So instead I went into question mode and just asked them why, why do you think that this can’t be fixed? It’s like, oh well the last carpet cleaner came in here and he said that we’d have to replace the carpet. That’s not a repairable or fixable item. Well what they didn’t know is that that last carpet cleaner did not know how to repair carpet. And so he didn’t want to refer him to another carpet cleaner that could actually do the work. So instead he made up his own version of the truth. Yes, you’re right. That could not be fixed by that carpet cleaner cause he did not have the skill or the knowledge to fix carpet. You would have to replace the carpet. So until you replace the carpet, just keep having him clean it. And the reality was is that it could be repaired.

You just had to have a technician who knew how to do repair, come in there and do the repair and now it can be fixed. So I told him, I said, hey, maybe it can’t be fixed because I wasn’t going to argue with what he believed to be truth. He would just had been misinformed. It wasn’t that he was ignorant. Somebody had just given him the wrong piece of knowledge. And so I needed to, uh, earn his trust so that I could give him a new piece of knowledge, a different piece of knowledge. Um, and that was to come in and say, Hey, would you let me test out my theory to see if this could be repaired? Because I believe I’ve run into this type of situation before and I have had success before repairing a situation like this. If I can’t repair it, then there’s no cost.

If I can repair it, it’d be $45. And so he agreed to give me the opportunity to try to see if it could be repaired. And I went through, repaired it and it was all fixed. It looked great again. And that was a problem of not that he did not know what could be done. He had been given the wrong information about what could be done. And in this case in a positive way. This turned out to be a wonderful thing for him because now as he told me afterwards, he said, I wanted to thank you, but I’m grieving going to go a step farther. I’m going to let you know that my feet. Thank you. And I said, your feet. Thank you. He said, yes, me and my kids have come into the kitchen for the last two years and every time we have to jump over the threshold so we don’t step on the open tack and it hurts.
