I think one of the important things about your whole home is the flooring that you choose throughout your home. Now I personally recommend multiple different types of flooring throughout your home. I like to have a little bit of a wood for decoration or maybe for just for kind of a pleasant, solid, elegant look. Though some homes would be a, uh, would not be a smart idea if you have lots of pets or if you’ve got, um, high traffic areas that you ended up wearing up, gouging up or messing up. Your wood tile is great. And all of your, uh, food preparation, your, uh, water areas like around toilets, around tubs, around sinks, anywhere that water gets splashed down.

That way you throw a towel down, absorb it up instead of having to get into your woodwork and warping it or get into your carpet and causing it to slowly, um, break down over time. Uh, you don’t want any mold or mildew issues. Uh, you already, you do have mold and mildew issues with tile. Also you can just use something more aggressive and easy to clean it up cause you can just scrub it right out in your shower, in your bathtub, around your toilet and sinks. Um, and then you’d have your laminate flooring. Those would be ones that are more decorative but on a more of a budget. I mean, you don’t want to put in hardwoods and $100,000 home because the hardwoods could cost you $10,000 and you’re like 10% the value of the home just in a couple rooms of wood. But you put in some wood looking laminate and then for a few hundred dollars or 500, $1,000 for 10% the price or 30 to 20% of the price, you can then have something more appropriate for the value of the home. Or you could put in carpet and get something nice and luxurious and even there in your carpet realm, perfectly. Any Tulsa since 1998 we give this advice to everybody is to, uh, there’s two reasons to replace your carpet. One is because it’s just functional. Uh, the carpet has some type of issue or problem and it needs to be fixed. Uh, so it’s, you need to sell the home, but it smells really bad. Like pet urine or there’s a tremendous amount of where are holes. The staircase is falling apart, the seams are ripped apart. Um, there’s big red stains around so you won’t be able to sell the home. Now remember that putting new carpet in a home will not change the value of the home. It is just considered a maintenance item. So these are things that to maintain the home they need to be done.

So remember that sometimes you’re doing these things. If you can get more, uh, length or longevity out of the item that you already have, then go ahead and go that route first before you go into replace it. But if you get in on something and it’s just, uh, it’s going to look like it has been neglected or is lacking this maintenance then come in there and replace it. Now when you’re going for that style of, because you’re trying to replace because of a problem, sometimes you need to stop and say is the problem or is there a solution to the problem? Because I’ve had quite a few customers not fix the problem. They just have really stinky bad issues with their carpet. So they replace it with new carpet, brand new carpet and they haven’t fixed the problem. So almost immediately the problem comes back on the new carpet.

They just spent a lot of money on and it has not been solved because the carpet itself was not the problem. It’s what was happening to the carpet is what the problem was. Uh, same way that if you have a water leaking somewhere, if you could replace all the stuff the water leaked into until the leak is repaired, replacing all of the stuff doesn’t make any sense because you’ve yet to solve the problem. Uh, we also believe this, the way that we handle our vehicles and our maintenance also, the way that we handle our carpet cleaning is that we want to do it right the first time. The shortcut is always a longest way to do, do some things that you want to make sure the first time that you touch it is the last time that you touch.

You repair it properly the first time. As the old adage goes, um, if you don’t fix it right this time, when will you have time to fix it? Right? Because you may have put some effort into it, but now you’ve got to do it again to get it done. Right. Uh, so it’s important. Well, picking out your carpet that you choose what you want for the area of the situation that you’re wanting to get it done perfectly. Tulsa’s in our fiber. Uh, something that we always want to stress or help our customers with is that, uh, many times we choose carpet for potentially the wrong reason. We don’t want to, um, I don’t want to hammer somebody up about what it is that they’re trying to accomplish or do, but sometimes we would love to have really fancy, nice, uh, carpet. Uh, but the house itself does not support it.

Now I will put a caveat on all the, the advice that we’re giving you. Uh, I think that there is one thing that will Trump all of that advice is if you’re going to stay in a place for three to five years and this is what you want, always go with what you want. Did you, we should enjoy our, our homes are our palaces. There are castle, and we should be able to get into our home and have a desire that we have this impulse inside of us. This, I want to get back home. I want to go out and explore and do my work and do the things out there. But at the end of the day, I want to have a place of refuge. I want a place that I can get back to that is going to uh, warm my heart, recharge my soul, recharge my energy, recharge my mind.

Am I my ambition so that it makes sure that the thing that you, you don’t get something you can’t stand, especially in your flooring surfaces because you’re going to have it for quite a while. And so take all of these advice, take everything we have with a grain of salt, make sure that it fits with the things that you enjoy, the things that you want to try to do and accomplish in your life.
