Speaker 1: (00:00)
This is complete carpet. I wanted to talk to you today.
Speaker 1: (00:04)
How about, uh, two things that you can do, do you help to, uh, maintain the health and wellbeing of your carpet? Uh, there are way more than two things you can do, but I just wanted to give you two little speed tips or tricks today that might help you along as you’re working on the next phase of your life and the next phase of your carpets, the next phase of your house. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa since 1998 Uh, one thing that we run into quite often are the one little spots. Um, and so I want to give you the rundown of how we deal with the one little spots. See areas that, you know, you’ve got huge, it’s not something big that’s happened, but you know that there is a problem here and over this area. And so it’s the, just the carpet clean and somebody came in and did something into an area.
Speaker 1: (00:53)
So I’m gonna give you a quick rundown or pro tip that we always give all of our customers on how to address the addressable problems in between carpet cleanings. So for, to start off with your one little spot. The addressable from that you have in there is first is removal. Do not jump to water. Try to wait for water until you have a chance for renting because water, when you get something wet, it starts to spread. You start to dilute it and it starts to become more um, uh, absorbable and principal. So you want to make sure that when you get to that part of your process, that you’re there and you’re ready for that to actually happen. So your first part is to remove a removal. Get in there as dry as you can. Soak it up, absorb it up, remove all that you can. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa is in our fiber.
Speaker 1: (01:40)
Lot of times people make the mistake of getting in there first and start trying to clean. We start first, start trying to clean. You’re going to dilute what’s already there, mix it into your cleaning solution and then spread it around. So you want to start off with removal. Um, we suggest having a shot back, getting a just a regular wet dry back, a five gallon one, a little small shot bag that you can then go out and just quickly suck up whatever it is that’s in your carpet, on your carpet. If you just suck it up and remove it out that way, then you will have removed the bulk of majority of your contaminant. Now next we’d recommend people to go ahead and rinse what they can out of the carpet so that you removed what is available. Just using hot water and never pour.
Speaker 1: (02:24)
Always spray or blot. Reason that they tell you all the time to block is that carpet fibers are little bitty pieces of rope and since they are a little bitty pieces of rope, if you are aggressive on them and you push and rub on them hard, you will unwind those ropes. And as those wet ropes get unwound, they start to look frayed and that area compared to the rest of the carpet will look a lot more fluffy and puffy and it will seem different than the rest of the carpet. And because of this, you’ll now have a place that you did get clean, but then now it looks physically damaged compared to the carpet around it. It’s not physically damaged as you walk across it. Eventually all the carpet will bloom and start looking like that, but you don’t want it to be look like it has 10 years of wear on it when it’s only one year old.
Speaker 1: (03:07)
So always block and try to suck up. That’s why we like using shot backs to rent it out. That way you’re not putting any physical aggressive wear against the carpet. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa You’re letting the water rinse it out naturally. So use some hot water, rinse out, whatever you can get out. Now, whatever is left in the carpet is the part that won’t just rinse out and won’t just suck out. So you’ve removed out whatever you can get out. Remember, don’t pour. Spray the carpet. So if damps you don’t spread the spot, be rented out. So the next part to this process is to, then your third step will be to get a cleaning agent that is appropriate for the type of spots you had. Um, use a carpet cleaning chemical if you can, because it’s going to be designed not to pull color out of carpet. It’s going to be designed for the right textile and fabrics.
Speaker 1: (03:55)
Carpet Cleaning Tulsa Um, in a worst case scenario, you can even use just a small bit of a, like a shout or something meant for your clothing because that will be roughly the same type of textile fabrics as you’re dealing with. But remember that most of those chemicals that you’re looking at, they are designed as a concentrate. So just a tiny bit of, you know, whisk or, or tide or shout is designed to go into anywhere from five to 20 gallons of water and to be diluted down. So use the very, very sparingly, a little bit amount of it mixed with water just to lightly break up the spot, then rinse it out and do that multiple times instead of trying to do it heavy all at once. More like peeling an onion, go over it multiple times to just kind of lightly break up those spots, rents it out, break it up, print it out, break it up, rinse it out multiple layers.
Speaker 1: (04:47)
Always works better than one hard, heavy layer. A same kind of goes for painting. You don’t want to put one big heavy coat right over the top of it and have the paint run. You want to put light coats across it to let it kind of build up and so you want it to kind of do the same thing and reverse it. Now instead of building up, you’re wanting it to slowly rinse out what’s there. Then you come back over and follow up with the rent and this is where your steps three and four just repeat themselves. So step three is to use a little soap. Step four is to rent it out. They go back to step three and were usable. So step four rents it out until you get it totally dry and totally clean. You want to try to keep it as dry as possible as you’re going through these steps because that helps the carpet.Carpet Cleaning Tulsa
Speaker 1: (05:34)
The a, if you get it too wet, there’s always Dustin dirt and debris under the carpet that has gone through there. Carpet Cleaning Tulsa If you get overly saturated or overly wet, then it will absorb down in and as it’s drying up negative stuff from the carpet and you end up with these spots, why sometimes people will spill water in an area. And then they notice later that it kind of turns into this kind of slightly tannish, brownish, yellowish look in the carpet. And the reason is because the, um, the dirt that’s under the carpet whipped up into the, uh, I whipped up into the fibers of the carpet as it was drying and so it brought some dirt up with it while it was going through. So I’ll try to eliminate that by using thin and small amounts of, uh, moisture so that you then can get it to dry quickly and not leaving it wet for a long time, which also can cause some damage to the carpet if it stays wet for more than a day.
Speaker 1: (06:35)
If it’s just wet for a few hours, no big deal. That’s carbon synthetic fibers, just like washing your clothes, they can get wet, they can stay fine and then you put them in the dryer, dry them out naturally. So within a 12 to 12 hour period or so is all stuff and dry. If you are cleaning your carpet, they take more than 12 hours to dry. You let it get too wet. Now, that’s not that you overly wet it is that you didn’t overly dry it, so don’t feel bad. If you do get your carpet little too wet, just make sure you put something on it to suck up all the stuff or in a water damage situation, you want to put a fan on it to start getting that moisture out of the carpet and back into the air so that that piece of furniture can dry completely out and a piece of carpet can dry completely out. Whatever the flooring surfaces can dry all the way out and get back to normal for you. We are complete carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 give us a call today at (918) 494-7093.
