[00:43] Um, as far as what we can do and how we can help you and do to extend the life of your carpet and ways to repair it in a way that you don’t have to lose value or lose sections of your home and how we could do it. We will cover all of that here. Uh, just a quick recap, we’ve gone over some other episodes previous that you can go back and go over was why should I stretch my carpet with a previous episode, a commercial cleaning? When is it time to replace the carpet? Can you tell me if it can be cleaned again? You know, really, when is it time to replace the carpet can also connect into a patching and what you’ll see after because sometimes you can patch it and sometimes it’s time to replace the carpet and then we’ll get into that here later.
[01:19] In this episode, I’m one of the things that you can also cover in our previous episode with the coal cleaning process. The whole process of what it would take to schedule an appointment, what it will look like when we show up. That will always show up with a van that is labeled a shirt that is marked with, um, knowing that you can expect us to be there at a time that you’ve set up, um, and how uh, how we will be professional that you will go through and do a walkthrough. We will treat all of the car, but we will take care of you. Right? So let’s jump into the patching side of it and what you will see afterwards. I’m up on a very short term, a quick answer to this patching. Will I see it afterwards? No. If a pageant done right, you will not see it afterwards.
[01:56] There is exceptions to that because the patch can only be as good as the, as the materials being used. Now we have extensive experience and we’ve done it through just getting out there and just doing lots of patching, doing, you know, thousands and thousands of patches and just making sure that we, every time we’re making good, clean cuts, making sure we’re using the right process, the proper amount of glue that really get that in there. carpet cleaning Tulsa So it’s going to stay there for a long time. Uh, a patch is just taking a cutting out a piece of carpet and replacing it with an exact template, an exact match of that piece of carpet for a good piece of carpet that is not damaged. That might be because a dog got trapped in a bedroom, they were wanting to get out and so the, your carpet has become the dirt and the door has become a fence and just thinking of your backyard, they wanted to get under that fences.
[02:40] They end up trying their best to dig a hole underneath that fence. They did dig, dig, dig, dig, and then they find a way to get under the fence. Then fortunately a house, you’ve got concrete right underneath the door so they can dig all they want to and that carpet, they’re never going to get under the door, but they do tear up the carpet. carpet cleaning Tulsa I had one customer, I came over there and the carpet had been torn back almost four or five feet into the room because once the dog started clogging it up and it got frayed, then got interested in the phrase and so it reached down bit and try to pull it back. And so one of the things that we run into is that I’m a dog or pet has damaged the carpet in a way. And so what we can do is that we can take and take a piece from either closet or a donor piece of carpet.
[03:19] That is the, it needs to be from the original carpet. Uh, you, uh, they just never going to work. If you take and try to just eyeball match some new piece of carpet from other, some other piece of carpet and then try to fit it into this carpet because you will, it’ll stand out like a sore thumb. Even when you use carpet that’s existing that already matches, sometimes it does stand out. It’s not quite as, not quite as evident, but sometimes it does stand out to where you can see a little difference. Not because we did not, we didn’t get the patch and perfectly because we can get the patch and just perfect looking, but the color of the piece that you patched with and the color of the carpet around it sometimes can be different if it’s brand new carpet like we did a job just last week for a lady who had just moved in a house, brand spanking new carpet dog, tore up the carpet.
[04:01] We took another piece of the new carpet, cut out the damaged area, patched in the new area. carpet cleaning Tulsa You could not even see that there was anything there because it was the original carpet. The carpet was brand new, so the two pieces are brand new pieces. Just the same way when it’s installed a patch, they seem to pieces of carpet together. We seem these two pieces of carpet together to replace the damaged area and then there was no visible difference that they carpeted evenly patch, you wouldn’t know. It actually had a situation has been at least 10 to 15 years ago where I came in behind a company, another company that had was installing this giant room of carpet. It’s probably like a 50 by 50 room of Berber carpet. Very nice high in Berber carpet. They had got it all installed. They finally got down to the end of the room and they’re going to, um, put a piece of carpet into the closet and they pulled the piece of carpet out of the closet because they need to do two pieces in there.
[04:47] So they pulled it out of the closet and whoever the technician was just was not thinking, just had a brain dead moment where I’m all sentence instability. Just went straight out of his mind and into some other, uh, you know, went into the ether and it just kind of left his body while he just went into autopilot. So he cut both sides, sides of the carpet, matched them up perfectly, but a piece of seam tape underneath it, put the iron down. Iron runs at about 450 degrees so it can melt the glue thoroughly. Get it melted and keep it in a melted state for at least 10 to 15 seconds as you put the carpet into it. So can really bond into the back end of the carpet, hold those pieces together, went through me to actually a very good seem to put the two pieces of carpet together for that backing to be able to put into that closet and went through the whole thing, went over it properly, laid some heat pad over it, kept it flat, got the iron out of the other end. carpet cleaning Tulsa
[05:33] And when he finally finishing like, all right, I got this done, I, I’ve, I finished, I made it almost a perfect looking, seem, pulls the piece up, goes into the closet. And, and as he comes back out of the closet and turns around and looks and realized I just seem those two pieces of carpet on top of the brand new carpet in the middle of the room. And so there’s this big two, four inch wide ironborn that it melted the top of the carpet because he had put the seam directly on the other carpet and he’d put a four foot long, four inch wide burned spot straight through the middle of the carpet. And so they were, they were stuck with having to figure out what to do and none of them knew how to, how to repair or fix that. And so they gave, they quickly gave me a call and give us a call and when I came out there, took a look at it and said, okay, there’s, there’s two things that need to be done here.
[06:18] One, I will not do any work unless the homeowner knows that we’re doing this. This is a 50 by 50 room. This is a tremendously. Drummond is amount of carpet of very expensive mount of carpet, probably four to $5,000 in just carpet for that one room. He had really nice high end carpet. So they were going to have to replace the entire section, middle section of the room. If the. I said, I will only do this work if the landlord approves and is okay with me doing a patch in the middle of the room. Um, and again, it’s brand new carpet. So it’s now being installed. He came out, looked at it, he talked to me. I said, look, I mean, it’s totally up to you. I’m not gonna. I don’t want to go behind your back or trick something. Here they are asking me to come out and repair this for them. carpet cleaning Tulsa
[06:56] Are you okay with me doing this repair? He said, absolutely. I just want to make sure this is okay. As long as you say that it’s going to be. It. Went through, cut that area out, put another piece of carpet in it. Looked exactly like he’s never been able to see the difference in that thing, but I personally know that there is a cut that I did throughout the middle of that carpet and so I wanted to make sure that he did not feel cheated, but he could never tell the difference. I’ve cleaned the carpet quite a few times since then and he’s always said, I just amazed that you were able to cut out a giant burn in the middle of the room and I was able to continue to use this room for years and years later. Um, it was a studio room of like a movie room for them. And without ever knowing that I’d had one big. You’d never know. They had one big giant burned spot straight through. There we are.
