[00:01] This is episode 28. We’re going to continue to talk about stretching because, uh, this is, uh, a big topic has got a lot of different aspects to it. They didn’t offer a one year warranty like we do, and so when it came, got it stretched and within a month or six months later, all of a sudden the carpets are wrinkled again and they can’t find this guy. He’s in the wind and they feel like they just lost their money or wasted their money. And one thing that we really bring that, so value add that’s really special, unique. The reason you will want to use us instead of some of the competition is that we do the stretching and on stretching is something we can do to keep your carpet lasting a long time.
[01:32] But really we want to stay with you for the long term as a customer because we want you to be able to use our services to keep your carpets maintenance up to snuff and keep your carpets in good work in health. Um, I have done, um, potentially a thousand, maybe more restrictions over the last 20 years. And um, I have only had maybe two or three of them were I went back and had to restretch it again. Just that one restretch was all this really needed because typically carpets do not keep growing infinitely. Uh, they do relax, they do get bigger. All carpet is going to relax and it’s going to get bigger if it’s installed properly.
[02:19] It should have about one inch of stretch on it. So you can have kind of like pulling a rubber band, tight Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. I’ve seen this so many times where, uh, somebody kicked a room in, which is where you use a nitpicker niche shuttle and you do use a nice picker and a chisel that is part of your regular process, but you want to use the power stretcher, be able to get that one inch of power stretch against the carpet. And then use the knee kicker and drizzle to go from the power stretcher and head to the wall, which is only about six inches to 12 inches. And just use it to kind of like push and hook the carpet onto the tack strips. Some installers or researchers will actually just use the knee kicker as you’re stretching device and it’s such a small head and the amount of pressure you got to put on your knees.
[03:01] There’s only so much the body can take and so it just doesn’t give the same type of thorough long good rubber band stretch that a power structure Cam and the purpose of this stretch, the reason you want to put one inch in their carpet, stretching pulses and our fiber. Love to explain and describe the details of everything. And that’s why we kind of go through these different episodes to give you. So I think somebody with more knowledge is more better equipped to understand one, what needs to be done and to what is being done so they don’t get tricked or sham or have somebody pull one over on them. And so the reason that you need to have one inch of stretch on that carpet is that the carpet is going to grow, just like getting a new pair of shoes. If you get a new pair of shoes or you get a pair of jeans that you’ve worn for a long time and as you wear them, you’ll see it.
[03:48] Or I’ve got a really good leather belts. Carpet stretching Tulsa That leather belt was just a nice straight line when I first got it. And as I’ve worn it over the years and now kind of has a little curve that goes around my waistband and now has molded around to my waistband and it fits my body a lot better. I’ve got a good pair of basketball shoes that, uh, I, I’ve used, I really love playing him and I’ve worked through and now my feet have really formed to the shape of the shoe is formed to the shape of my foot. Um, you might have, you know, a different articles of clothing that has just slowly over have kind of molded to the shape that you are, that you’ve put against it because it has the capacity to be a little bit flexible and kind of remember it shape over time at carpets the same way it’s going to grow about half an inch to an inch.
[04:32] And so when it’s installed, brand new carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. Uh, we’ve seen this so many times where it’ll be installed and the person did not use a power structure. And so there’s not that extra inch of tension, like a rubber band holding the carpet so the carpet grows. It’ll eventually suck up that inch of extra tension that’s on there because it just relaxes. But it relaxes maybe a quarter inch or half an inch. Carpet stretching Tulsa So there’s still a quarter of inch left. Keeping the carpet nice and Platon and tight in your room. If that doesn’t happen, you end up with a wrinkle and the way that you have a wrinkled, the reason you have a wrinkle when you’re dealing with carpets that are I’m not quite flat or not quite all the way done is that the carpet has grown. It has gone past the amount of stretch that you’ve put into the carpet and now it’s hit a wall and when it hits the wall because it growing a little bit bigger, it now can move to the wall any farther, so now it will move to the points that has the least resistance.
[05:24] Typically that’s your walk past because that’s the part you’ve walked on the most and broken down the most and other time it’ll be it may just go against the wall, hit there and it’s kind of bubble up against the baseboards. Other times it’s a big heavy piece of furniture and we’ll cover furniture and reasons that are not installation based, why the carpet may have been stretched.
