Carpet Stretching Tulsa | Episode 235

[00:00] This is episode 2:35. We’re going to be talking about carpet stretching and we are complete carpet, carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We’d love for you to check us out. Give us a call at nine one eight, four, nine, four, seven, zero, nine three and see what we can do for you or check us out on the line@wwwdotcompletecarpettulsa.com. I’m going to be talking this time more about carpet stretching, but more about the actual physical actions that are done to try to get the stretching, not just about why you need to get the stretching done, but how is it going to be stretched? Um, carpet stretching Tulsa is in our fiber and we love for you to check us out. We’ve added other services too beyond just carpet stretching. We’ve got repair, a seam repair. We’ve got a tile cleaning, upholstery cleaning, carpet cleaning. We can get pretty much all of the health and maintenance needs of your carpet taken care of.

[00:51] I’m. One of the things that a lot of people want to know is how is the carpet stretching done and what type of tools that we use, um, on a very basic level, a, any small closet area or small five by five area can be just neat, kicked or stretched in by hand. Um, and so we require a minimum. You’ll need a knee kicker, a chisel and a knife. And what you’ll use on these three things that, the goal of this is probably on your real basic side, is you need to be able to get something flats a. If you go back to when your mom had you do your or your bed sheets as a kid, mine would always have us make sure that we pulled all the four corners down flat or pulled the sides in flat, trying to get all the wrinkles out of it.

[01:28] Do you want to make it look smooth and flat and pressed, and to a degree that it was the same thing we’re doing with your carpets in your room. It’s creating a, a slate trampoline effect. The tack strips around the room, all face have a little pins in them, they’re down to the ground and they face slightly outwards. And so by taking the carpet and tacking it to one side and putting them onto those little spikes that kind of put slightly outward, you can create a rubber band effect to the other side of the room. carpet stretching Tulsa As you stretch it to that side. You want to stretch about a half an inch to an inch if he can have tension on the carpet so that when you pull it up in the middle, it should within one to two seconds, just pop straight back down. And so what we’re looking for and we want to try to accomplish is to get that carpet flat again, but also flat into the shape that it’s already in the room.

[02:10] And that’s one of the big difference. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. The big difference between installing carpet and reinstalling or restructuring the carpet is that um, the new installation you can cut. You’ve got extra carpet around six inches around everywhere so you can stretch it in and cut it to whatever you want to look like. But when you’re researching carpet, you’ve got to be able to be within the confines of the cuts that are already made in the rooms. You can’t stretch it all one direction or all one place because sometimes that will include a doorway or a, um, some type of metal fixture or a fireplace or something that already has been cut around. And if you move it too far in that direction, you’ll move the cut that’s already been there. And so in a closet, for example, where it’s just a square room, which is very easy to be able to stretch in, um, you were looking to try to connect one side and then pull away from that side.

[02:58] And you always have to check. This is a very important thing for any time you do carpet stretching that you look to see and make sure that the wall that you’re going to pull away from a secure first lot of times if you doing a restretch, the carpet is loose. It’s loose. Because both sides are loose, both sides have to be loose to create a wrinkle in the middle. And so, uh, we’ll go through to make sure one wallace secured properly and then that is your anchor wall and sort of like if you’re doing your beds, one corner’s already secured to your pulling against that corner to try to get those sheets to go flat. And it’s a lot like doing your bed sheets. Got carpet stretching Tulsa and our fiber. And then I’m comparing this to bedsheet do it, putting their bedsheets, getting those nice and flat.

[03:36] When you pull one corner, it’s going to to create a wrinkle that goes sideways. So you got to pull the other corner to make sure the two areas pull it out, nice, tightened flat, and we do the same thing. We’ll stretch it in. So you start in that closet starting from the doorway. You kind of bump against the right wall as you move towards the wall in front of you. And then you go along that straight wall, making it tight now. And a small closet. You can just do this with a knife, a chisel and a nice kicker, but if you get in a large room that’s 10 by 10 or bigger, you need to use the power stretcher because the force that you would need to exert in that small space just to get it tight, it’s going to be more forced than with the carpet can handle in a small, the small head, the six by six by six inch, head of the power of the Nica agree.

[04:16] You need the one foot wide power stretcher. They can really hold a big grip on the carpet and not damage the carpet, but also to put enough attention on it and it’s important to put the right amount of tension so that, that stretch will last the rest of the life of the carpet. Uh, having tight flat to carpet room, really important because it keeps carpet from wearing down or breaking down prematurely. carpet stretching Tulsa W for since 1998 has shown us many different tips and tricks on ways to be able to get that stretched, to be able to be done properly. And I’m having that, that large base at 20 or base of knowledge is one of the main reasons that customers call us out to be able to get their carbs looking good again so that they can restore the value of their home. Stretching.

[04:58] Carpet never gives any extra value to your home. It just restores the value that’s already there. It’s kind of like I’m painting your house. If your paint is starting to peel off and looking really bad, um, that really will bring down the value of your home. But by going through and doing a nice fresh coat of paint across the home, uh, we’ll bring the value of the home back to where it should be. One of the things that most people think is that it’s just extremely expensive and typically compared to new carpet is it’s very affordable. Typically less than 10 percent of the cost to replace the carpet is the cost just to stretch it. And so we recommend all people that are looking to list their homes to be able to get that carpet stretch so that people don’t come in there and immediately want to discount the price because the carpet just, they think in their mind is going to be a five to $10,000 expense. It just needs to be replaced. Whereas for four or $500 potentially, you can just restretch it and be able to regain all of that value back into the home.
