[00:01] This is episode 2:41. We are complete carpet, carpet stretching, pulses that are fiber, and this time we’re gonna. Talk about some of the repairs and patching that we could also do a carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We’d love for you to connect with us and see what else that we can do for you. We offer carpet stretching, cleaning, upholstery, cleaning, tile cleaning and repair. Anything after your carpet has been installed, we can help you with it. So give us a call today at nine. One, eight, four, nine, four, seven, zero, nine, three carpet stretching Tulsa is in our fiber and it’s one of the things that we do that make us unique and sets us apart from the competition is that we are able to not only clean your carpet but we can also stretch and repair it at the same time. And this can be a big time saving and money saving capacity because you don’t have to call out two separate companies to try to get one job done.

[01:02] You can actually get it all taken care of with one call from one company. Uh, so many times we’ve had customers tell us that the previous carpet cleaning company had told him that something couldn’t be done and really after looking at it and seeing what was going on with that particular situation, it really was that they couldn’t do it. Not that it could not be done by anybody, it just could not be done by those particular people, but they left the, the customer with the impression that nobody anywhere it could have ever done it, that they would just have to go to the massive, extensive replacing the carpet instead of just repairing it. One way that carpet stretching Tulsa has really helped, uh, uh, be able to repair things is when you have a transition that has started to come apart or it needs to be repaired.

[01:47] Um, sometimes those transitions can just be restretched. You can just stretch a little extra of the carpet up and cover up those bad areas and get them put back together. Now it’s not always able to be stretched out. Sometimes you do have to patch it up, but there’s a lot of times where if it’s just starting to fray on the edge, we can use a power structure to get another half an inch or an inch out of the carpet and tightened it up a little bit more and in the process, be able to cut off the bat or damaged edge of the carpet. Um, now this isn’t able to. Every time solved the problem, probably the one of the easiest rules of thumb, the way that you can tell if this is going to help or fix your problem or not, is if you look down and you can see through the carpet and see the tack strip to the carpet is probably too damaged to be able to stretch it up and bill repair it by just stretching it.

[02:31] A, the main reason for this is that to be able to stretch carpet, you have to get to good healthy carpet to be able to put a stretch on it because there needs to be something that’s going to give some might, some they’ve got to hold onto that carpet when you move it forward and if the edge is damaged then you will stretch it forward. It will go into the spikes, the tax to hold it in place and at the edge is damaged, it will just pull the fibers right off and it will, you’ll have the same problem. They’ll just now be farther in. So the general rule of thumb that he looked down and see the tack strip than it needs to be patched. If it just looked a little afraid, but he can’t see the tack strip yet. It typically can be stretched sometimes just because the carpet has become loose.

[03:09] And, uh, one of the big reasons for keeping carpets tight stretched is that when it becomes loose, it now is going to move up and down against the tack Strip and the you’re having these little teeny pins. And although if you’ve ever touched your foot or touched your finger on a little one, a little pins and the tax rate, but they’re very sharp. Carpet Stretching Tulsa And so if you can imagine taking that little pen and stabbing the back of your carpet over, over and over and over because it’s loose and every time you come over there, your foot is going down on it and it’s causing these, all these perpetual little kind of death by a thousand cuts so to speak. So that’s why the edge of a carpet will start to fray out and fall apart is because the, um, every time you step on it, the carpet’s not tight loose.

[03:48] So it’s actually kind of lifting up and then you step on it, you stab it down into the tax and it kind of lifts up because there’s Lusin established back down to this acts. And so this happening over and over and over, just eventually shreds that whole edge of the carpet. And of course the looser it gets, the more compounded this problem becomes. And that’s also why we always recommend people. Make sure you stay on top of your stretching. So you don’t end up with stuff that can damage the carpet in a way that it could always be patched, repaired some in some form or fashion, but it’s not always going to be the most elegant solution. Um, another way that you can kind of fix those areas where it’s starting to fray or come off of the edge. Um, and this is more of a quick fix or more than a permanent fix, but you also can get some wide that transition.

[04:31] Home Depot, Lowe’s, make a bunch of different types of transition covers, carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. I’ve seen lots of different situations where this would be a really good viable solution for the customer is that you take, they make a one inch or two engine, even a three inch wide wooden, a transition piece that you can just put over your carpet to tile or whatever the transition is between the two, between the two surfaces and be able to just glue that straight over to the edge of it. You don’t want to make a permanent solution by just gluing it in and, and can. I can do it. The other option is to get a drill and a take and drilled down a little pilot holes through each of the holes. They’re also make a metals and a rubber piece and it wouldn’t be so whichever one looks or meet your panty and you drill through those little holes, they put those little, they make a little wooden dowel that you can put down, drop down in that hole that you drilled and now you can take and just use a little decorative finished nails to hold downs, a, a, a gold or a silver strip of metal that would cover both sides and those strips of metal coming to inch and a half, two inches, up to three inches wide so that you can get that all covered all the way across there.

[05:40] And instead of trying to stretch up and repair the carpet and just cover it up, cover up the edge of the carpet so that it no longer has any access. Nobody can get to it anymore and that will protect it from any further damage. Uh, they do this a lot in commercial applications. You’ll see the edge between the commercial carpet going to tile, they put in little ropey rubber transitioned. That way you’ve got something else besides the edge of the carpet and the tile taking the brunt of the, of the traffic as it comes across there. They’ve got that little piece of rubber that can take up that things. We are complete carpet, Carpet Stretching Tulsa and surrounding communities since 1998.
