[00:01] This is episode 2:48. We are complete carpet, carpet stretching Tulsa and our fiber and we love to connect with you at nine one, eight, four, nine, four, seven, zero, nine, three and be able to answer any questions you may have. A carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We have added a carpet patching and repair carpet cleaning, a tile cleaning, upholstery, cleaning. Pretty much anything you need to get your carpets serviced after it’s been installed. We are there and we can help you with it. I’m here in this episode. We wanted to continue talking about some of the different ways that you can do dirt management throughout your house. Dirt is very aggressive. It is in essence the sandpaper of the world. Uh, you could see anywhere that has, you know, just wind blowing sand around, could just chew up and heat things up. You get too much dirt and debris on something and it will just cause all kinds of physical damage because it’s just so gritty and strong.

[00:50] Just a way, just like sandpaper is rubbing it back and forth. I’ve given this example many times. If you rub your hands back together, um, you can keep some warmth and kind of get yourself warm and Chile and I use rubber hands back and forth, keeping yourself warm, but if a covered both your hands and sand, you wouldn’t be able to rub your hands back and forth very long at all. Same thing with your shoes. As long as you’ve got your socks on and you’ve got a softer fiber rubbing against your skin, then you can really go running for a long time, but if you get one little grit or grain of something done in that soccer, you run without your socks and your shoes have a stronger leather that’s stronger than this than the strength of your skin. Then you start running around and eventually you’re gonna rub a blister.

[01:27] Now, if I took and you’re at the beach and I dump a bunch of sand in your shoe that told you to run up and down the beach, you wouldn’t get very far at all. If you get a few steps, you’d be like, nope. Can’t do it. I mean, this just way too aggressive. It would just. It would just chew your skin up and you’d end up with an immediate blisters that are just hurt everywhere. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We’ve seen this exact same thing happened with people who do not maintain the health and wellbeing of their carpet by keeping the dust and debris out because that same dustin debris gets down in the carpet and then it creates a sandpaper like texture rubbing against the fibers and it will cause them to pill up and ball up and eventually just break it down much faster than it should have.

[02:02] Carpet can last. I’ve seen carpets last 20, 30, even 40 years and I’ve seen other carpets that have gotten four to five years into the life and nobody’s taking care of them and they are literally just falling apart because they’ve had that sandpaper in there and it’s like rubbing your hands back and forth. carpet stretching Tulsa You could go for an hour probably rubbing your hands back and forth where you’re really rubber good blister. Whereas you put sand on it and you’re gonna go like 30 to 60 seconds before you rubbed through your skin because it’s just too aggressive. Um, so part of that system that you need to put in place that you make sure you’re maintaining on an every other day basis on a weekly or monthly basis is just like your wastebasket. Just like your toilet, just like all of the other places that you have throughout your house that maintain, just like a sink where you maintain the storage, that you’ve got a fridge to keep all of the cool foods on the inside.

[02:48] It’s got the doors to close it, to keep it so you’re not just lead and all that cool cold out. Do you want to have the rear containment devices, your systems, your structures in place throughout your house to be able to keep the dirt and check also, and we this through mopping, we do this or sweeping. We do this for vacuuming and so those areas need to be done on, on a fairly regular basis. And when you’ve got water tile floors knows that you really can’t go a couple of weeks and be able to walk across your floor in bare feet without ended up feeling like you’re walking across the sand. So you want to make sure you’ve maintained those areas on a regular basis, but also the entry and the exit points of your home. Those are entry points of dirt that sources of dirt can come in from the outside.

[03:24] So you want to put down a new. A good math is fluffy that doesn’t isn’t decorative, that has a way to knock the dirt off the people’s feet. But then you also want to maintain on a regular basis. I put that as part of your back, you mean scheme so you get back up off of just the weather. People are using it or not. carpet stretching Tulsa There’s also just the elements just being weathered since it’s outside. It’s going to get dust and dirt and debris to just fall on it because it’s naturally. It’s outside and so it’s out in the elements, out of the source of dirt and is going to collect its own source of dirt. And elements over time. So one of the things that you need to do is make sure you put that as a part of your regular maintenance cleaning schedule. The other part that is important is that you are.

[03:58] I’m rinsing them out every now and then you can vacuum it, but just like your carpets need to be cleaned, your rugs need to be cleaned also. And a lot of times it can be done just simply by taking a garden hose and a vegetable sprain, a attachment that you’d use to water your gardener flowers with. And just hang that rug just sprayed down. Good. Just let it hang to dry. I’m always, I always recommend everybody either lay it flat or let it, let it hang vertically to drive, but don’t lay it over something as it dries. Fabric can remember its shape as it dries. A carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. I’ve seen this so many times where the, uh, the carpet will be laid over something, let it dry. And when they take off of the something, now the carpet is bent in half or is folded or has got a big hump in it because a carpet as it dries, the fabric as it dries, will remember the shape it’s in as it dries.

[04:48] Also, the backing has either woven or has glue in it. And those, that backing can also stretch into a specific shape itself. Once you get wet and hot or wet and let it set for a while, you can kind of manipulate and change its shape. I want to think that people used to do, um, uh, installed a few of them, uh, over the years was on the old console bands where you had like the big captain’s chairs in the front and then a couple captains chairs and maybe even a bed in the back, one of those conversion vans. But that console up in the front, they used to all be carpeted. And the way that they would carpet bomb is that they take a regular piece of carpet, put the console on it, the curved ball. It’s like going to a big domed curve, kind of made a big one 80 and they would just soak that carpet completely, make it completely wet and then put the console up in it and put bricks in it and leave it overnight.

[05:31] Just let it keep dripping wet and that carpet by the next day would stretch and mold and fit around that concept and make a big bell shape that you could take the console out. The carpet would stay in that shape because it is molded to that shape. Now it is dried into that shape and it will stay there. It’s also one of the reasons that we don’t suggest putting your moving the furniture onto damp carpet because the weight of the French will put the physical dents into the carpet and the carpet’s hot and wet and it will come into stretch down and leave those big deep bucket holes where the feeding had been sitting because it’s now stretched out the carpet and it dried that shape.
