[00:48] We’re wanting to finish up our series here on maintaining the systems in your dirt, in your house to maintain the dirt throughout your house so you can keep it, contain it, and then get rid of it. Obviously, we’ve previously talked about your entry dirts, where your entry mats come in, making sure that you clean those on a regular basis. You’ve got your front door, you got your garage door, and you’ve got your back door. Those three areas are typically where we see the majority of dirt be able to enter into a home. Um, uh, people who used their garage on a regular basis, they pull in there, sometimes forget to put down a good match because they think, well, I’m in my car, I’ve gotten to my house. Um, and as you get out of your car, you walk straight through the garage, into the, um, into the home.

[01:25] But that typically whatever dirt you picked up before you got in your car is now still sitting on your feet or is now kind of sitting in the garage because the car, you pull it in each time. So all of the dirt on the tires sits in that garage area. So it’s good to have a really good system. They’re in the garage to build a knock of that dirt off your feet. So you don’t bring it around cleaning those on a regular basis because even though they’re nobody’s using them, they’re exposed to the outside so they actually can get dusty and dirty all by themselves. Carpet stretching Tulsa So the people will pick up dirt by just walking across your mat some time. If you’re not careful, instead of trapping dirt and bring it out of off of your shoe and protecting the home, it actually can become a source of dirt where people walk across and get their shoes more dirty and bring that dirt into your home.

[02:02] One of the things that we do that we recommend people do on a regular basis, vacuum rents them out or just replace them. We bring a secondary side, is putting a area rug or entry rugs inside, say an entry matt or maybe a runner down the hallway or a um, a big area rug in front of the couch to these, or very important one is putting a desk of mat down. I’m in front of your desk chair so that the wheels don’t grind around and rub up friction the carpet. You get them. Some of these circular wear patterns there and you want to be able to put something else in that place to take that friction away, to allow that to move smoother around that area, so make sure you always have. If you have a desk or a desk chair that you’re having a mat down to that area and it he pulled back all of these areas in any customer’s house that we go to.

[02:50] The carpet can be very dirty, but then you pull back the mat, you pull back the rug and you’ll see that underneath it, the carpet looks almost brand new because the carpet on top of the rug on top has been protecting that purpose and so any of your major high traffic areas that we put a rug down, that can also be a way to catch in a claim the dirt. Let’s say that you don’t want to use the rug method. You don’t want to cover up the carpets a. Then you need to make sure that you’re just going through those areas and saying, okay, what is it we’re doing here that we can limit to be able to live at the source of it. So create a new system in place for me personally and our home. Carpet stretching Tulsa Uh, the kids can have water and in the kitchen they can have water in any of the tile areas, but they can’t have water over the carpet, carpeted areas of.

[03:30] It’s not because I don’t trust them. It’s because if there is a glass of water sitting on a countertop or sitting on a table or sitting on an area or somebody was drinking and they said it on the chair, the next person going through, more than likely is going to bump into it or knock it or hit it over. Or if you’ve got pets in your home, you know that the cat is going to walk across the back of the couch and then jump on the little arm chair and then jump on the little end table and knock all of your drink on the floor. And a lot of times it’ll help. And when you don’t realize it, until you’ll come in hours or days later and there’s been a drink that’s sat there on the floor and is just completely soaked out an area, and if it’s not just water, any other drinks going to make it sticky is going to be really difficult to to rinse back out.

[04:06] So if you just maintain the drinks in the places that can easily mopped or wiped up, then you don’t have to worry about that problem. Another thing that we do is that if we do eat in a carpeted area, we always put a towel down, say eat at the Ottoman or we’ll have some place and make it create a fluffy. And the reason we use the towels, because it’s fluffy that way, have you eaten anything falls off of it. You just rolled a towel up and shake it off or wash it and it will contain or grabbed that dirt for you. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998 is I think it’s important that you put systems in place or also processes in place that you can maintain the dirt as it goes through. If the kids are playing in the backyard or if I go to mow the yard, uh, we have a different set of shoes that you play out in the backyard and get muddy in.

[04:49] Then you would walk inside your house. Him and so I have A. I’ll actually wear my regular shoes. I’ll go outside and go to where the lawnmower is. I’ve got a second pair of shoes. I always just leave on the lawn mower. So I take off my regular shoes, put on my lawn mowing shoes. Carpet stretching Tulsa I mow the yard, go put the lawn mower back and right there on top of Lamar. Just take those shoes off. Then I have grass and mud and dirt stuff stuck on. Just put it back on the or put on my clean shoes and walk right back into the house. And I don’t have to do anything outside of that right there to be able to just move right back into my home and not have to worry about leaving dirt and debris and stuff all throughout my house. And so as you walk around your house, be conscious of the different areas that you know that you’ve allowed dirt to get into your home and how it got there and what you could do to kind of maintain it.

[05:29] We don’t let our trash just kind of wander across the floor aimlessly. We always take our things, we throw it into a wastebasket. So think about that same concept, but you go around doing your vacuuming and doing your maintenance on your carpet. And your carpet will last much, much longer. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998.
