[00:00] This is episode 2:52. We are going to be talking about corporate protectant carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We are complete carpet. We love to reach out to you and give you more information. You can find more podcasts just like this one as we go through these different series a that have frequently asked questions or informational things to help you to maintain the life of your carpet and better increase the longevity of your carpet, keeping up with the health and maintenance of your carpet. A carpet stretching Tulsa and our fiber. Or We’d love to talk with you and give us a call at nine. One eight, four, nine four seven, zero nine. Three. We’ve been carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. Adding services to carpet cleaning, patching repair, a restretch, restructuring, a commercial cleaning tile cleaning. Uh, we helped to maintain the health and wellbeing of your carpet after it’s been installed.

[00:54] We can do everything that you need to have done to help to maintain that carpet. Uh, today we’re gonna be talking about carpet protectant. Uh, and uh, what the different parts and processes of that is on this very basic, easy core. A carbon protected is just a way to make a fiber more water resistant. Um, it’s uh, originally, uh, created by dupont teflon as one of their products, their scotch guard product. Um, what are the, uh, other uses as a like a teflon pan? It worked kind of in the same way. It gives a coating on the pan against that steel to keep things from sticking to it. And uh, this, uh, the coating they put on the carpet, if you’d done strong enough can actually keep things from sticking to it and the same general way. Like you could do it heavy enough coding on it, you can pour a can of pop on it and we’ll just kind of float on the surface, probably seen a commercial or a demonstration done like that to show what Scotch guard could do.

[01:45] Um, and that same coding, just like when you use your, a fry pan to cook up eggs or to Cook Bacon as you use the pen, you slowly wear off or scratch off that protective coating over time. And so as you walk on your carpets, you were doing the same thing. You’re creating friction and rubbing and wearing on that, and it slowly kind of wears off that coding through just friction, just through just use of that coating stays the carpet stays nice and clean. Um, and then uh, it will not take, it will reduce the amount of wear that it has through just regular vacuuming, keeping dust and dirt and debris off the carpet, making sure that you rinse out pop stains and other things that would cause a dirt to be stuck to or stay in the carpet. A carpet protected carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998.

[02:32] And keeping the carpet flat also helps because it reduces the amount of movement and friction that the carpets will experience. I’m one of the important things to also remember is that you need to use the right chemicals on the carpet because too harsh of a chemical, we’ll strip off the carpet. Protecting that is on the carpet. Regular cleaning does not remove the carpet protected. It actually improves the carper protective because it keeps I’m abrasive foreign materials off of the carpet fibers themselves, carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. One of the things that’s important to remember and then we’ve told, we always tell our customers this, give them this example, is that if you take your hands and you rubbed them back and forth together, you can stand in front of a nice warm fire, rubbed your hands back and forth, back and forth, that you can generate a little bit of friction and just enough to kind of get your hands warm.

[03:17] And you could probably do this for 10, 15, 20, maybe 30 minutes. Just sitting there kind of rub your hands back together, facing the fire, trying to stay warm or cold night where you’re alone. You just Kinda keep rubbing back and forth. Kind of do that little cricket twitch to try to keep generating body heat, but if I took those same two hands and poured salt or poured sand all over, but had you rubbed your hands back and forth together, then you’d probably only get 15, 20 seconds in before your hands would be rubbed raw because now you’ve added in grit that’s stronger than this, the strength of your skin and so it will now be pressing against your skin, breaking down the, the, the strength and the texture of your skin. The same thing happens to your carpet fibers. All that grit sits in your carpet fibers and every time you step on it, you rub the fibers against each other.

[04:02] And each time they rub against each other with all that grit and sand and dust and debris that’s sitting in the, in the carpet and then rubs on the carpet. And so the fibers will rub against each other and the grit will cut up the fibers. It will, it will, uh, uh, fray and break down the fiber. And how this manifests itself is that the carpets will slowly start to go from being an individual little tufts of of earl individual strands of fiber to becoming um, clumps or tufts of fiber because it starts to unwind and unravel the fiber in. carpet stretching Tulsa It starts to mat down and starts to lay down flat out because the dirt and the debris and the oils and everything and the sugars that are sitting in the carpet all start to have it stick to itself, but also start to flatten out because now as you walk across it, it’s not just soft fiber rubbing against soft fiber which can last a very long time.

[04:49] It is soft fiber rubbing against hard dust, dirt, rocks, Grit. So it’s almost turned itself into sandpaper that every time it rubs against itself. It’s like rubbing sandpaper on your carpet. And so it’s very important to keep a regular cleaning, maintenance schedule. Whether that be through vacuuming, through just making sure that there does not get into your home to begin with or through making sure you have regular carpet cleaning. Thoroughly breakdown all the oils and greases in the carpet and rents them all out with real hot, hot, hot, hot, high temperature water through a steam cleaning truck mounted steam cleaning process. But to keep that good carpet protectant and keep that barrier living lasting a long time on your carpet. You want to make sure the ammit cleaned on a regular basis.
