And at this time we’re going to talk about keeping your filters clean. And I’ll talk in a generic sense and a specific sense. One thing that I have found a majority of homeowners have not received is just a general education in your, um, how to operate your vacuum.
[01:03] Now everybody just by no just, just naturally looking at a vacuum can see that it’s got a little bag, was vacuum canister that holds all the dirt that’s supposed to be in the sucking out of the carpet and so we on a regular basis will dump that out once we see that it’s full of. I personally tell people just dumped that thing every time you back. Um, two things. One, everything you stuck up, it’s just sitting in there and it’s going to collect mold. Mildew is gonna. Continue to sour. You sucked up whatever it is and say you sucked up a piece of banana and it’s sitting in there. Now it’s rotting in your little tank co creating some just terrible foul smells and just bacteria and whatnot in there. So just my personal opinion is just always just you vacuum up, go over, dump it out and then put it back. Carpet stretching Tulsa
[01:47] They’re super easy. They typically with one hand can pop out with one finger, pop, open the lid and drop out the stuff that’s on a regular basis, you know, knock that out because a lot of the stuff that you suck up with, your vacuum is organic and is biological and can will decay and break down while it’s sitting in the vacuum. And the second thing that so many people don’t get and don’t see, and if you’ve got pets on a side note, if you do have pets, it is good that you use a slight bit of decrease or a little bit of dawn for grease cutting action when you cleaned that out and wipe it out every couple of months because the pet oils and the hair and the stuff that you suck up from, the pets will coat the inside of that container. I’m getting everything covered in a layer of oil and they will help it or it will make it to smell of it.
[02:31] Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We are complete carpet and we love to help you to service your needs, but one of the best ways we can help you is by teaching you are informing you of how to maintenance your carpet in between the big carpet cleanings, Kinda like going out and pluck the weeds out of your yard in between the time that you mow the yard so that you don’t end up with a ton of weeds everywhere by catching the small things as they happen. Um, one thing that happens with almost every vacuum cleaner, and I run into it probably once a week, if not a couple times a month, um, is that many times customers have a vacuum cleaner that they’ve never cleaned the air filter on. Everyone knows about the little tank and a or the bag that you pull out. And that was where the debris sets.
[03:15] But there is another filter that will filter the air that comes out of your vacuum and vacuum to work properly. It works on air movement. It’s as much as sucking as it is blowing air out of. Carpet stretching Tulsa So on one side it draws air in through where the, uh, where the suction side of the head is, it draws into the canister, but then that air is sucked in, has to go somewhere and so on the bottom side of it, he will blow it back out and into the room and where it blows it out, it does not want to blow dustin to perjury, dusted debris back into your home. And so they put a foam filter or a pleated filter. Most of the time they have a little foam filter. If you take out your canister on the bottom of it, typically there’s a little place there that you either can pull up or you’ll just see it sitting right there with a little great overtop of it.
[03:58] It’s just a big foam disc that can be cleaned with a little drop of dawn and they just kind of squish it like a loofah and be able to break up all those oils and dirt and dust and lint that sitting in it. But if that starts to get covered with a layer of hair and dirt, lint, eventually it will get covered like a blanket and the air cannot exit out of the vacuum so the air can’t go out of the vacuum no matter how hard he tries. It cannot be able to bring any air into the vacuum either. This is typically when you notice that your vacuum will, you’ll try to suck something up and instead of picking it up, it shoots it across the room. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998 for 20 years I’ve seen this over and over where somebody will go in, they’ll vacuum and area and as I come in to do the carpet cleaning, I will be able to smell that.
[04:41] They have just vacuumed. And at any point if you go in and you vacuum and after you’ve finished vacuumed, it smells like you just vacuumed your house. Carpet stretching Tulsa It’s got that hot towel or that hot dog smell or you know, it kind of smells like what you’ve been vacuuming. That means that that exterior, our air filter is clogged or dirty and the air that’s going into the vacuum is having to get heated up and pushed really hard to try to push its way back out out that dirty filter. And as it goes out that dirty filter, it’s taking the smells of the filter and blowing it into the room. So now the rooms you’re creating the reverse air freshener where you’re actually kind of stinking up the air. So it’s really important that every, I think most mackey was recommended every six months replacing or cleaning that, that little air filter, I recommend people do it every three months.
[05:26] Um, and typically you can just pick up from Amazon, pick up a, a, a big pack of the filters. You know, if you just want to be able to pull it out, throw it away and put a new one in. Carpet stretching Tulsa Or do you want to save a little money? They typically, and we’d just be cleaned very simply by just taking some soap and rinse them through like a loofah and then renting all the soap out so that you can break up all those oils in it and that will help your back into it. We’ll always do a really efficient, thorough, deep cleaning job on your carpet at all times. It also will save the wear and tear on the motor because the more clogged that filter gets, the harder the engine has to work to try to push air through the machine. The harder it works, the faster it breaks down because it will get hot.
[06:05] It will start to wear out the brushes and the little motor, and then eventually the vacuum just will not suck up or blow out air like it used to because it’s just been worn down from having too much debris. The same thing happens with your home ac filter. If you let your filters for your air conditioning get clogged up, it will wear out your heating and air unit a lot faster than if you keep them replaced. Every one to three months.
