We’re going to go over a couple of different tips and tricks on what you can do to be able to take care of and maintain your carpet inbetween your major carpet cleanings.
[00:58] Obviously it’s best to try to get onto a spot as soon as you can, but sometimes that spot comes at a weekend or an evening or at some point were calling it professional is just not feasible or maybe not practical and maybe it’s the only spot in the house. Everything else still looks really good. And so instead of spending the money to have someone come out for one spot, you can be able to grab something and be able to get it freshened up and cleaned up. And so, um, one of the things that we offer besides just carpet cleaning is carpet stretching Tulsa, uh, since 1998 throughout all those years, um, had a good chance to be able to refine and hone down our skills on what we can do to be able to provide a good service to each of our customers. And one of that, part of that process is that we also can equip our customers to go to know how to take care of things properly.
[01:47] And one of those is being able to take care of a spot as it happens or the sooner you can get on it, the better. I’m on a real simple level. If you just grab a towel and just put it over any spot that happens, stand on it and try to absorb as much as you can. Don’t don’t rub it but bought it or just put your body weight on it to kind of try to break up what is in there. I’ll be able to soak up whatever’s there so he can be able to get some of that out. And then we personally, I personally in my own house, a use a shop back and he’s got a small five gallon shot back that with a small attachment head on the end of it upholstery tool and he was just a short five foot hose onto it for all of my.
[02:25] I’m a touch up cleanings as they happen throughout my own personal home. I don’t pull out the big machine. I’m unless I’m cleaning the whole house because it’s just. It takes too much time to set all that up. Whereas in just a couple of minutes, 60 seconds, I can go in the garage, grab a shot back, grab a bottle of water, and just start cleaning up or treating something. Whereas it would take 10 to 15 minutes to try to pull out a whole big carpet cleaning unit just for one small spot. And so what the process that I use personally for my own home, and you can do this with a shopvac or you could use this with a missile or a rug doctor or a little hoover clean carpet cleaner, um, is that I’ll take a bottle, a spray bottle and put as extremely hot water in it.
[03:04] And the steps that you want to take is first you want to try to absorb up or suck up as much of the whatever the spot or spill is that’s on the carpet. So if you’ve got the shot back, make sure that you’ve put a wet filter in it and not a dry filter. The paper filters, if you suck up water with them, we’ll just turn into puddy. Whereas the black honeycomb ones allow you to be able to suck up water without the paper filter getting destroyed. A Carpet Stretching Tulsa since 1998. Our first step that we’re going to talk about is just absorbing up or sucking up as much as you can. Either use a towel and stand on it or take your shot back and just suck up as much of the contaminant as you can and once you’ve removed or sucked up as much as you can.
[03:45] Then do step number two, which is just take piping hot water in a spray bottle. You don’t want to pour it on the spot because that will cause a spot to spread. You want to use a spray bottle and spray it over the spot you want. You don’t want it on a small stream. You want it more on a media missed. Not to where it’s a big pillow of dust, but on a kind of a more of a targeted spray. You want to target maybe a six inch type of a circular spray area. Spray over it and get it all damp and then take your a shot back and suck up that moisture that you’ve put in there. So you want to just lightly. You want to do that like five or six times, get it till it’s damp and then suck it up, get it till it’s damp and then suck it up.
[04:21] Get it till it’s damp. It’s not going to want to be. You want to get it wet but not let it spread and that’s why you need to suck it up quickly. And he wanted his hotter water as you can because everything dissolves into water faster. The hotter the water is, so I just use straight full on hot tap water sprayed over there. And after you’ve done that, five or six times, even now, rinsed out as much as it will just naturally rinse out with water. Carpet Stretching Tulsa night tonight, 88. These are the process we tell each one of our customers for all 20 years. Uh, the next step you want to do first, suck up as much as you can. Second, you need hot water. Rinse out, just hot clearwater rents out as much as you can. I’m using light amount of water and lots of renting and third, you want to take some type of a proper detergent carpet cleaning chemical, something along that lines that matches whatever your spill is.
[05:06] If you’ve got something that is pet based and he’s a pet based, I’m a product. If you’ve got something that is greasy, then you want to use some type of a solvent or Greece cutter. If you’ve got something that is makeup related than you want to paint, paint oil and grease or makeup remover or if you’ve got something that’s just sugar or you know regular things that you just use a regular all-purpose carpet cleaner, a detergent and use a light amount of it and then just lightly work it in. Let it set for 30 to 60 seconds. Let the detergent kind of break up whatever’s left in the carpet and then suck up what you can and then rinse it again and do the three or four or five rinses. Rented three or four times and then look at it at a little bit more chemical.
[05:48] If needed, rinse that out again and then keep sucking on it until die once you’ve got it to where it looks good, gave it four or five more passes of just without any water. Just suck it up so you get the fibers as dry as possible. You can even take a towel, lay it over the area, stand on it with your body weight and let that kind of transfer the moisture into the towel. Um, and then just let it dry naturally as these are the steps that we use to try to clean up little spots in our own home. A carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We are complete carpet.
