And we can answer any questions you have or get you on the schedule to get your carpets back in a good healthy maintenance. Again, today we’re gonna. Be talking about carpet. Patching a. There is a fairly simple thing, but that also requires a bit of focus and skill. On the simple side. You’re taking one piece of carpet and you’re putting it into another piece of carpet to make it look like the damaged area of the first piece of carpet does was never there.
49 I’m. The easy side of it is you’re just taking one puzzle piece and putting it into another puzzle piece. Carpet stretching Tulsa. Since 1998. We have had thousands and thousands of jobs where we’ve gotten out there and taken a damaged piece in a carpet. Uh, uh, you might, you might think what different types of areas could be a cause for damage. One is just where sometimes you’ve got a, a threshold or an area going in to a tiled area. Maybe you’ve just walked on it so many times that the carpets become afraid. Maybe there’s a physical damage to the carpet. Uh, you’ve moved a couch, road, piano or something and it caught the carpet and tore it. A dog got super interested in the carpet fibers and decided to start calling and dig into that big one that we gave to the dog, gets trapped in a bedroom and tries to dig their way out from under the door.
40 Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. We’ve seen this over and over. Um, another reason that you might have a damaged carpet is that either you’ve left an iron on the carpet for too long or maybe a curling iron. That could be a clothing iron. Um, it could be a physical hot iron like a poker from a fireplace or another part from a higher place of be a ash or cinder that comes popping out of the fireplace, lands on the carpet and is, uh, then melts or burns a little hole in the carpet. Uh, another reason to be able to patch your carpet is maybe you’ve put something on the carpet. The carpet itself is not damaged, but there’s something on the carpet that cannot be removed. I’m an example of this and be like a big Glob of fingernail pace of paint, a paint roller. Whirlpool could be good on the carpet caused damage you, maybe you’ve got a actual blue, maybe got some elmers glue or some gorilla glue, something that’s spilled over and dried and hardened into the carpet.
48 And other parts that we run across fairly often is a slime right now. Kids are really into slime. And so that gets onto the carpet and sits there and it dries out. And it once it gets totally dry insurance and do almost brick, um, maybe you’ve got an area that you put too much bleach on the carpet and it’s actually done the opposite. It’s not something on the carpet anymore or something that’s taken the color away from the carpet. So now it’s all white when the carpet should be a red blue, orange, brown is now a bleached out and it’s all white. And other reasoning that someone might want to patch their carpet as we’re going through that. Just a list of reasons. Carpet stretching Tulsa us is 1998. We’ve seen every single one of these and fixed every single one over the years is that somebody decided that they were going to take their permanent marker and draw a pretty little face on the carpet or maybe they wanted to make that area the carpet creative black swirl or maybe they’ve picked up their latest Easter egg creation, you know, the little packets that you use to change the color of the eggs.
49 Also has the capacity to change the color of the carpet. So. So one of those little dye pack, it’s a little diet pill, then it gets dropped in the carpet and then the carpet is a Easter egg colored Carpet stretching Tulsa is 90 98. Another thing that we see on a regular basis is that a dog or a pet has found a pen and chewed it and bitten it. And now the pens ink is just soaked into the carpet. If it’s just light, sometimes it can be removed, but the problem is a lot of times the whole area’s completely been soaked all the way to the pad. So no matter what you’re removing the top, it’s just going to keep soaking up from the bottom because it’s like an inkwell, like an old style pen fountain pen, or you’d actually have the ink side of it and as a tip spread it kind of let the inca drip down as you do the old calligraphy type art.
37 And so it becomes that same. Well you’ve got this inkwell sitting underneath the carpet and the backing of the padding and the just perpetually comes up through the carpet. So no matter, no amount of cleaning could ever get it out. You’d have to actually cut, replace that area out. Another reason that an area might need to be patched or replaced, um, is from just physical, uh, damage. Uh, maybe you’ve got a of, oddly enough, I’ve had an accidental firearm firing that is shot the floor and created a whole because the bullet got lodged underneath, or a shotgun blast that tears up the carpet. Maybe it’s for something more, um, more organic, like a pet peed in an area too much. It may be the corner of a room or a litter box, and the cat always misses the litter box. Six thousand six, there’s rear over the edge of the litter box.
29 Puppies on the wall or on the carpet there was carpet becomes so year and saturated that it just can’t be treated or cleaned. And we may just patch that quarter out. The rest of the carpet in the room is fine, but you just want to pass that one stinky, bad area. So all of these different areas all can be patched. You need to have the same like kind donor carpet, so the majority of time we take it from a closet or if you’ve got a piece of carpet in the attic or of the original installation, they ever have a carpet of salt, always save least five to 10 feet of it, uh, so that you can have some patchy material for this forward because every carpet eventually going to have some type of damage to it that you want to get it.
