A lot like the carpet installation process and one of the parts that is a little bit different is that when you’re stretching carpet, you’ve got carpet that is already in place and has already been cut. Whereas you’re putting new carpet in. You have a piece of carpet that’s too big for the area and has yet to be cut yet, so you have to take a whole a whole different approach.
[00:45] It’s the same general philosophy, but a very different approach in trying to make sure that that carpet can be stretched out because if you go in the wrong direction, you can end up pulling carpet away from doorways or away from a walk paths or walkways or areas that the carpet has already been cut in and you move it the wrong direction. You end up with big gaps and holes in the carpet from the spaces where you’ve pulled it away from a wall or away from a a pole or a around event or something like that. And so what we do is we’ll come in to just stretch carpet on his basic standpoint is a lot like trying to get the bedsheet flat on your bed. Carpet stretching Tulsa since 1998. I’ve always liked giving the bedsheet analogy because it, um, it’s uh, everyone’s at some point, but the sheets on their bed and had done they’re fitted sheet and really you could take one corner and then two quarters you get the two corners on and now you do a caddy corner or an opposing corners.
[01:39] And now got three of the corners on that fourth quarter is the one that you really pulled to try to get all flat across, but if one of the other two corners is not on property, when you pull that fourth quarter, one of the other corners will pop free. So that’s really a lot of the same way that you want to stretch your carpet in is that you want to get one corner attached and tucked in and you want to stretch it out about a foot or two so that both sides are nice, tight, flat, and Carpet Stretching Tulsa can do that. And then you go to a lot, one of the two walls, whichever while you want to go through and pull that Tyson, I ain’t got one wall is nice and tight. Tuck that in a so that’s a first edge of your bed. And they go across to the opposing corner and make that one nice and tight.
[02:15] That’s an idea to walls that are nice and tight and stretched. And then an angle you stretch towards your final fourth quarter. You do it from both the two sides kind of roughly at the same time. Uh, you can go straight into that corner and do the main stress there and then tighten it up as you go across and then you cut those and now you’ve got all four directions nice and tight and pulling the carpet will stay nice and tight. What you’re looking for is having that carpet have about a half an inch to an inch of extra tension on it so that as it has walked on and that is is used it, we’ll have a little bit of a trampoline effect and it will stay tight, will absorb about a half an inch to an inch of growth from that carpet. As it slowly starts to break in and slowly starts to everything will relax a little bit Carpet Stretching Tulsa.
[02:56] It’s like getting a pair of good leather shoes, purpose 13 Tulsa since 1998 and you get a nice pair of high end leather shoes, dress shoes, and you put them on the first. They should be just a little too tight, just snug against your foot and as you walk in them and you kind of break them in, slowly going to relax a little bit and they’re going to form to fit Roger Foot and they’ll become a little bit looser. Do you get a loose you to begin with, uh, become really sloppy and um, and almost fall off your foot later on. So you want to get one that’s just a little bit tight so that it can kind of break it. [03:35] Now if you put it in and you don’t put any attention on it, the carpet will grow a half an inch to maybe an inch over its lifespan and it will end up with a big hump, a big wrinkle. And the reason that this is a problem because each second step of that, the carpet is moving a large amount. It goes up and then go all the way down where it should be just laying flat and just tweaking just a little bit. Uh, it’s. This is also why in the commercial aspects they are commercial places like say a restaurant or movie theater. They glue the carpet straight to the floor and the reason they glue it straight to the floor is that if the carpet is glued to the floor, I can not move at all. The backend stays totally flat, totally farm and the fibers will last way longer than if they were over something that has a pad that allows it to squish and move up and down, allowing it to kind of bend it, break every time someone steps on it Carpet Stretching Tulsa.
[04:21] This is also why you don’t want to move big, heavy pieces of furniture across the carpet because they will create a big, really heavy direct point of person that can cause damage and breakage to the carpet as you move across. But they may offer you a closer to what it is that you are asking because it removes one thing that they may be able to come to you and say, hey look, I would offer you $100,000, but it’s got, it’s going to need five to $10,000 in carpet, so I’m only going to offer you $90,000.
