Carpet Cleaning Tulsa | Ep 18 Complete Carpet Podcast
This is Complete Carpet, and one of things I love the most carpet cleaning Tulsa and the surrounding communities, is the friendliness of the people that live here. There’s just this unique feel and atmosphere here in the Tulsa area. We had an ice storm and everybody’s default mode was, let’s go across the street to check on our neighbor. Let’s see if we can share some milk. Let’s see who does not have their power still on. We were out of power for two to three weeks. So, let’s see if we can help them by maybe storing some of their perishable goods for them so that they don’t have to just throw away a refrigerator full of food.
This is a town of more than just a casual nod or hi. It’s more of a handshake or a good hug. There is a friendly atmosphere that I enjoy in every house that I’m in. I’ve been offered drinks, both soda or alcoholic. The latter always confused me, I mean, I am in the middle of doing amazing work cleaning your carpets, doesn’t feel like the right time to start drinking. Though, I guess I could see it from a celebration point. They are so excited that the carpets look so good that they want to crack open a cold one to celebrate the accomplishment. Many, many times, I’ve been at my last job of the day, and it’s getting late, but I’m going slow and making sure that, even though it’s the end of the day, I’m still taking the time to get the carpets cleaned properly. And next thing I know, the customer has made me up a plate full of food, and I’m enjoying a great home cooked meal at the end of the day as my tip for a job well done.

Customers find out that I have three kids, and pretty soon, I’ve got some great new toys that my kids enjoy for weeks to come. I always try and give more then I get also. It’s a chance for me to help others too. If there is something that I can do to go beyond just carpet cleaning tulsa, then I’ll look for it. I was at a customers house and they had just moved in two weeks before and were just getting everything moved in. I was using the faucet to fill a bottle and noticed the water wasn’t very hot. I asked them about it, and they said it was just an energy efficient house and the water didn’t get hot. This seemed very odd to me, and so I asked if they didn’t mind, could I check out their hot water heater. They agreed, and I was able to find out that not only was the hot water heater still in vacation mode, but there was a recirculation pump on the water heater that had been unplugged. I fixed them both, and in 15 mins, they had nice, hot water at all the faucets in the house. They had taken showers for two weeks with mild warm water, and no one had ever told them or adjusted it for them. It wasn’t what I was paid to do there, but they were ever so grateful to have hot water finally.
This is just a little bit of what I love about the general Tulsa area, where you can be at QT and actually pick up customers. I’ll just be at QuikTrip, and I’ll be there pumping gas. I’m going in between jobs and I’m trying to at all times do the best job that I can. So I’m there and I’m filling up, topping off with one of my favorite local companies, QuikTrip. I have the mug; I’m a fan. They just have the best people that work there. You know every time you walk in there, you feel like there’s something special that’s going on. One time when I was at QuikTrip, I met a guy who just walked from two pumps over and saw the wrap on our van. He had read the description of our company on our van, and when he came up to me, it startled me a little bit. I was kind of in my own world thinking about my schedule and what I needed to do next and waiting for the pump to finish so I could get on to that next job. He walked over to me and said “Excuse me, do you do tile?” I said yes, we can do tile also and not just carpet. Also, if you do the two together we can actually give you a $20 discount. The man asked if we had time tomorrow, and so we set up an appointment right there. I went the next day to his home, and got them taken care of. Eight years later, I’m still cleaning his carpet. He says, I’m going to consider myself an official QuikTrip customer of yours because it was just there in a QuikTrip parking lot that he came over and two strangers met, and we were able to help each other. I was able to provide him a service, and he was able to give me a job, giving me some work that I could do to fill up my schedule for the next day. So, it’s stories like these that are one of the main reasons I love Tulsa. I can really be anywhere and strike up a conversation with somebody. There is a good hometown feel of just camaraderie and safety. You know most of the time you hold the door for someone, you’ll get a warm smile and a thank you.
