Before I started Complete Carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998, I actually grew up in this general Industry. My father worked for a company that did janitorial work and he ran their carpet and repair division. When I was almost 5 years old we moved into a new house. He decided that he’s going to replace the carpet there and wanted to do it himself. This was the first time that I remember where I really got to help dad work. He didn’t do installation all the time, this is just a thing he did for himself to save money because that way you could get a little better carpet. Sometimes you can get something nicer if you figure out how to do it yourself. I remember this specifically because this is the first time that I got to stay up all night long, straight through the night. My mother was pregnant with my youngest sister and she was very close to having the baby. My dad was on a crunch to push to try to get the house prepared because we were trying to move while she was in nesting mode. At the time I didn’t understand why there was SO much urgency to it.

Now I understand. After having 3 kids of my own, when a mother is ready to settle in she wants to have a place to bring her new baby to and she wants to really connect with that atmosphere. She doesn’t want to start moving. I know it as a businessman now too, because I have plenty of customers and jobs that are specifically about a new baby that is on the way. They have looked down and noticed their carpets and realized, this is not a place we want to pur our new baby on. We use a process to clean the carpets so that when the baby can crawl or lay on the carpet without fear that you are going to pick them up and have a little black hands and feet. Carpet cleaning Tulsa communities for over 20 years we are covering where our passion and knowledge came from.

I was 5 years old with my father installing carpet in our new home. Now at 5 years old there’s a limited amount of things that you have the skill or the attention span to do. One of my favorites that I was able to do was to take the roll of pad and roll it out from one end of the room to the other. Now I’m sure you could just to kind of push it and let it roll out on its own. But at my young age my mother was very into old plays, Broadway and musicals. As such we had watched Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Now in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers there is a scene where the Seven Brothers come in and they take on all the city guys. They are the mountain men and they have a large dance off with the city men. In this type of movie a large scale production level dance off is the only way to truly settle a dispute. One of the things they do in that dance off is a log roll. A guy jumps up and runs on the log as it is spinning without falling off. You know what looks a lot like a log? A roll of padding. So I spent a good amount of time trying to see if I could unroll the padding, no not the easy way with my hands. No it could only be done right if it was done with my feet. I remember I spent half the night standing on top of a roll of pad try to roll it forward without falling off of it. Then trying to roll it backwards without falling off of it and I realize that it was way more difficult to try to lay out the pad while standing on it then I had previously imagined.

The next step which I was given, which was probably the only thing I could do, was to to tack the pad in place. I didn’t get a knife, I would have surely cut more the the padding. Probably would have cut my fingers off with those very sharp carpet knives. But I did at least get put it in place and then to staple the around the edges. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 I’ve carried forward that 5 year old excitement forward into business today. You can see everything that we do at our website at www.CompleteCarpetTulsa.com or will you can call and connect with us directly at 918-494-7093. You’re going to find that same passion that same desire as that little five year old kid who was just excited about being able to help Dad for the first time. Going back to my family, we are going to get my new little baby sister in a few months. We have been carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 but this story goes all the way back to 1984. This is the first time I can stay up all night long. Now at some point I’m sure my dad regretted letting me help him. Having three kids of my own that have grown up I realize the attention span, the interest that a five-year-old can have. To install carpets all night long, I now believe that my father may have been able to install the carpets during the day without a little boy walking around asking: How are you doing that? Why did you do that? Can I help with that? You want me to pick that up? You want me to move that? What else can I do daddy? I’m sure that there was just this barrage of endless questions of everything he did. That is probably why it ended up taking him, not just through the day, but all through the night. But he was gracious enough to let me stay with him and just keep watching and learning. From that experience I continued on. Speaking of continuing we will pick up right here in our next episode about the history of Complete Carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998.
