Ep 4 Complete Carpet Podcast | Carpet Cleaning Tulsa

In this episode we will continue our story from the previous episode. We have been talking about the history of Complete Carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 though in this section we are actually going all the way back to 1984 for a story involving a little boy and girl that were fighting over who got to go to work with daddy and finding out that if you fight over something that sometimes you both lose. So here I am at home with my mom. We have pulled out our ever so fancy attached to the wall 15 foot long corded telephone to call my dad’s work. We had left him a message letting him know that we were in search of my sister and wondered if she was with him. While we waited for the message to make it through the proper channels at his work for him to respond, we continued to search for my sister. But this was before the days of having a cell phone in your pocket. So someone had to stay next to the phone and wait for a return call. This was another special event that we used to have that kids today don’t understand. Once you left a message for someone to call you, and in this case it was urgent, you had to stay really close to the phone at all times until they called you back or you would miss the call. Especially when the person calling you couldn’t be reached except via a message to call you. So you would stand near and around the phone, sometimes for hours, waiting for that magic moment that it would ring. Now if someone that you weren’t waiting for called you all of a sudden you were stressed and tried to get them off the phone as quick as possible. Because that might be the very moment the call you wanted would come and you would miss it. So we took turns, one person searched for my sister, while the other sat by the phone waiting. Finally my dad called and he didn’t have my sister. My mom burst into tears, because she was sure by this point she must be with him. The only thing left was to call the police.

Today I do let my children come and work with me in the business. Just before my mom called the police my dad called back and said he had my sister. This brought a large amount of relief for me. I was afraid I had made my sister so mad that she just ran away from home. By this point everyone is just glad that she is safe. Though there’s a part that all of a sudden started to creep in for me, jealousy. How had she ended up at work with dad and I hadn’t? Turns out she used a super ninja move and just snuck in the station wagon and got down behind the seat and hid in the footwell. This was back in the 80s where the station wagon had those massive foot wells. Unlike nowadays where most people’s cars have that tiny, cramped, barely get your feet to fit even turned sideways. If you’re an adult in the backseat you don’t quite properly fit in the space that’s designed for I’m guessing really small kids. But back in the ‘80 a small child could take a nap in the footwell of the back seat. It was like a huge bowl or plush carpeted goodness. We are sharing some history of events that shaped how I run Complete Carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998.

After our fight she used a super ninja move and snuck out and hid in the car. This was super exciting at first, but it had a problem she hadn’t thought through. When did she pop out and say surprise I came with you even though you said not to. Evidently she never found that right moment and dad got to work and locked the car. So she just kept hiding in the footwell I imagine waiting for him to get off work and she would just sneak back out at home and pretend nothing ever happened hoping she wouldn’t be in massive trouble. I think we’ve all been in that situation at some point, were we think that we just knocked out the most awesome super move that we have ever done and then we realize that we are now lying in the footwell still hiding. Do I jump out and say surprise or do I just sit here and hope that no one ever notices.

Complete Carpet we have over 20 years carpet cleaning Tulsa and surrounding community. So we have a long history of hard to do projects finished. We have done, fixed, repaired or seen just about every type of carpet cleaning or repair situation possible and no longer are we stuck in that wheel well behind the seat wondering what we will do next. We’ve already found a solution to the problem because we’ve already done it many times before. To my sister that is there in the car while everyone is frantically looking for her. She hid there for almost two hours, I’m sure very scared at this point. Eventually my dad finds her in the wheel well. As a father now I can understand how he would be upset that his daughter disobeyed what it is that he wanted her to do. On the other hand I also can understand how he probably went there and realized the reason she did this was because she just wanted to be with daddy and had gone to ninja move extremes of sneaking in and is just there because she just wanted to spend the day with daddy. As the older brother I was supremely upset, jealous that she had used this particular super move to spent the day with Dad. Especially since she didn’t come home and wasn’t grounded for the rest of her life. Evidently dad found her crying in the footwell of the car, a scared little girl that was facing the consequences of her actions stuck in a car. So she came home and was carrying a milkshake because they went to Brahms and had a special treat. They came home during lunch because dad had work that we couldn’t be there for. So I guess it wasn’t because we were fighting after all. We will cover some more historic stories in future episodes. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 we are Complete Carpet.
