How often should you clean your carpet? Probably the most free question I get asked and honestly it’s a really subjective answer. This is Complete Carpet, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. On a very basic level we will go back to if I clean your carpets, if we come in there we get that taken care of for you, if you then moved out of the house and came back in 10 years from now the carpets will look just the same way that they did when you left. As long as there’s no one using the carpet the you don’t ever need us to come back and clean the carpets again. All you need is to vacuum. A vacuum could just pull off all the dust and as long as there’s no stickiness, and there’s nothing to hold the dust and the dirt to the carpet then a vacuum will just remove it right off the top. You’ve got lint on stuff sitting on there, vacuum over and they comes right off. What you’ll need us for is for when you start to get a buildup of dirt that your vacuum cannot get or you have stickiness whether that be from oils or sugars or from little creative playful hands or bones that have been chewed, or from slobber with the dogs or the whole plethora of different situations in which stuff, contaminants can get stuck to the carpet to where you then need us to come out and give you a fresh start again. Talking about some tips from our most frequently asked questions and one of the questions that we get all the time is how often should I get my carpets cleaned? Just some averages, some general times that don’t have anything specific to do with you, just has to do with the situation of a carpet and a house. A situation that doesn’t have to do with the people in side but the pets. For pets probably once every 6 months or so. Because with pets they have a body oil hair buildup that gets on your carpet. You may be absolutely clean but your pets sleeping on the floor there by the oils build up on the carpet causing the carpet to lay down, mat down. You can see the gray area where the dog normally sleeps, and that’s just their body oils. It’s the same way when you sleep in your bed your body oils will build up on your white sheets. You go two months without changing your sheets and you are going to get some pretty yellow sheets. Your carpets look about the same way as the pets lay on the floor and over 6 month or so they eventually get a build up. If you walk in your house and it kind of smells like wet dog. Continuing with our question of how often should I get my carpets cleaned. We are kind of a little series here on frequently asked questions. With pets and kids it’s a good average every 4 to 6 months as the oils from pets coats and young little toddlers with their sticky hands get on the floor or from the oil build up of just your pets. From the greying carpets or when they start to smell a little gamey you know that they just eventually you’ll get a critical mass of just a build up of where the pets and the children have been playing and the areas now needs to be clean to remove the stickiness that you can not just vacuum off anymore. You’ll need a professional cleaning to remove the oils and get the carpet fresh again. If it’s just a single person that maybe you have just one dog, and there’s just a single persons more executive level and the dog is almost always an outside dog that just doesn’t come inside. Then more of a once a year or so cleaning should work for those customers. Of course if you have a few kids or of course teenagers you never know you could need the carpets cleaned every 3 months or you can go up once a year depending on the situation. So the best my best rule of thumb, also my what I tell all of our customers, is when you start to feel like it needs to be cleaned, that’s the best time to get it cleaned. You know, don’t let it go too far. If you feel like, man I’ve really let it go. I’m thinking it should be done a little more often. Carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998. Or if you look at it and you say you know it doesn’t look that bad. I think it’s doing okay. We hit the 2 year mark. Then it’s good to just get it cleaned then for maintenance. We’re just give it a through reset of the carpet. It’s good to do that because it will help with your vacuuming so help with your regular maintenance that stuff that you’ve been doing to try to keep your carpet healthy in between carpet cleaning. At the 2 year mark that’s a good time to make sure that you’ve reset your carpets maintenance. I’ve got some customers. we do all the way up to a monthly basis. I’ve got other customers that we do every year or two. You know just depends on how much dirt is sticking to your carpet whether you need us to come out and help you. We do offer other things outside of just the carpet cleaning. So you just don’t need a carpet cleaning right now. We also can do a repair and restretching or maybe you take a look at your furniture. And you realize all starting to really look a bit dingy. I’ve been there, the dog jumped up on this end of the couch. Or if they start to smell a little bit because they haven’t been cleaned. It hasn’t been maintained properly or maybe there’s a rug or a chair. Maybe you walk in the kitchen. You look down at the kitchen tile and the tiles they look okay, but the grout line are no longer a nice sandstone color but have kind of turned almost slate gray or maybe even a black because it just built up so much grease in those grout lines.
