So in this episode episode 71 we’re going to talk about a question I get often is: where did you learn to do carpet repair? This is a rather more involved question, but on a real, simple sign up the carpet repair, I learn by doing it by by just practicing and doing it there’s a lot of teaching that you can do at a real Theory and we can go in a lot Of the theory and ideas behind it, what makes a good patch and what makes a good repair, but also a lot of that has to do with feel too I’m just having skill a man. We can talk of the specifics of all of them and I can’t describe to you all of the intricacies of painting, but if you you actually hold a paintbrush and get paint and then have a canvas and start actually trying to do it yourself, you almost unreal. I look at all this theory is good, but I’m have to put in a lot of effort. I’M have to put a lot of time to put a lot of hours into just actually doing it until I find how to smoothly do this, and also what all of the problems are, that you could run into and the best ways to fix those problems. We also do repairs and one of the things that question I get asked off at his. How did you learn to do cart repair about a small kid? I actually grew up around my father. He was in a similar industry, Sam similar business, and so he also did a carpet, repairs and all the side to get a little money. He would do carpet installations, and so I would get to go with him. I remember the first installation I got to do with him was actually in our own home. I was around 5 years old. My mom was pregnant with my little sister at the, and so I why he chose to move to a new home right, as my mom is about to give birth to my little sister. Now as an adult life, I see it. It would be a terrible idea. I’Ve never once thought in my wife’s about to give birth. You know what let’s go through a big move and switch homes right now, because she’s wanting to nest and I’m wanting to break the nest apart and find a new desk. So so we were there. She was due any moment within a week or two if my memory serves properly, and so we were in a crunch to be able to get that carpet in so they can move in because you can’t move into home till the carpets in the house, and so My dad was there and you can you just there to spend all the time you could? I don’t know if I got the opportunity to stay with my dad or if my mom said that I had to go with him, because I she didn’t want to take care of the other two kids and be sitting at home 9 months pregnant. I either way I got the option to me. It was up to me. I was super excited. I was glad that I was getting to be able to be there and hang out with my dad be able to get this. This work done. I was 5 years old. I remember I remember clearly because of the first time that I remember getting to stay up all night long and if it is a little kid you you crash out after certain amount of time. Where is this night? I was excited cuz. I got to work with Dad and I look at it. I was going to work the whole night through. I didn’t learn a lot about carpet repair at that time, but I did get an interest in the love and understanding of the importance of what how putting how the carpet in a house can transform the entire day out of the entire look up a whole home.

It probably took them all night long, because I know my kids as they went through there’s plenty of times where I knew I could have got a product done quicker, but I’m going to take the extra time and I was going to explain it all them, because The more that they learn the more they will be able to help me in the future.
