Hour to pick up our story that we were going through last time and the last previous episode, where we were talking about. How did you learn to do carpet repair and get this question asked pretty often about how I got to this particular level of experience and what it was it drove me or push me towards wanting to get these type of things done. I was telling the story about how I was 5 years that I was with my father. Installing carpet in our own house by mother was pregnant about to give birth to my youngest sister, and we had just moved into a new home she’s 9 months pregnant and we are putting new carpet in tooth at home before we moved in. And so – and I can imagine the stress put on my dad to go to get this knocked out fast, because mom does not want to move while being pregnant. I don’t think any pregnant woman wants to be in the middle of a move money to Nest. While there’s no Nest to be in – and so he had me that day to go install carpet with him, I’m only 5 years old, so there’s a limited number of things that I can do. I know that I remember putting one that I could do would be rolled up at out. You got these giant rolls of pad and you roll them across the room to lay them in place and then my dad to come in and cut it, and I can roll across the room again and you cut it again and against all that. Can I pretend, like I was in a river on a log and I had to walk it without falling off, so I didn’t fall into the water in the hot lava that was below and make sure every little kid is always played the hot lava game that There’S no certain things in the room, maybe the furniture or maybe the the couch in the chair. You set up some type of optical cord, for if you touch the carpet that was hot lava. You didn’t burn alive if you were done, but if you could finagle your way to get across to the other side of the road, then you be able to be safe as long as you stay up on top of the surfaces bed somehow magically did not melt Or burn in hot love it, so you could quickly get across the other room until I use this Theory to roll the padding out that stand on top of padding at one side of the room, and then I was slowly walked forward. Trying to maintain my balance on top of the Patty I can get to the other side of the room by just rolling the padding out with my feet.
That’S all I also this particular house was a top of a wood subfloor, and so is my dad gave me a little stapler at so I can go around the edges and staple the carpet. I put a staple in and just tack, padding sorry thought to be able to patty melt the carpet padding down to the floor and that would hold it in place of the one about the carpeting would all stay in place and I stayed up the entire night. My dad, I’m I’m sure, was hoping that it any point. I would just hit that five-year-old midnight spot and then you just crashing he just face-planted into wherever you happen to be staying at that time and you just fall straight to sleep right there. But I remember I had stayed all the way up, because I got to see the sunrise at work at that all night long. You got all the carpets installed to stretch to the place and I watched him to help them and ask them I’m sure a billion different questions of how he did it.
