I want to talk to you today about keeping the integrity of your carpet. We want to go for long and Jevity. A lot of times people wonder, uh, if cleaning your carpets will make them get dirty. And this is a, an interesting conversation because logically no cleaning your carpets would not make them be dirty. It would make them be clean but it is not without merit because there are times where people have had their carpets cleaned and they feel like they get dirty sooner or quicker after being cleaned. And there’s two reasons for that. One is that somebody does not do a very thorough or a deep cleaning. Tulsa’s highest and most reviewed Carpet Cleaner. Sometimes they just knock the surface dirt off and the carpet still stays dirty deep down and as it dries, that dirt kind of percolates back up to the top Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998 one of the solutions to this problem is to do a pre spray, let it soak in a bit to break down the dirt that’s in there so that then you can rent out the dirt from the top and get a better, a deeper clean in your carpets.
Speaker 1: (01:09)
This is similar and we tell our customers to follow the same pattern themselves that if you’ve got a, let’s say that you’ve got, Oh, let’s use your dishes in the kitchen. If we’re using her dishes in the kitchen, we will say, how will we get our dishes in the kitchen? Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998 I’ve had this conversation many times with customers and it’s important to note that there are different ways to clean different types of dirt, but in this particular case we’re going to go with a plate of dried on spaghetti, so you’ve got that play to dry it on spaghetti. You can grab that plate, take some hot water, and just start trying. Just elbow grease out the spaghetti off of that plate. You will eventually be able to get it clean. But if you just take a uh, your one side of your dish, you’re at one side of your sink, just take him, put your dishes down in there, put some hot water in there and a little bit of Dawn and let it set and we’ll just give it to a say, do a little egg timer.
Speaker 1: (02:05)
Let’s give it 90 seconds. The end of that 90 seconds, you should be able to pick that plate up out of the sink and all of the dried on spaghetti should just slip right off. And that’s the point where you can take that plate and turn it sideways and lip. Everything just falls right off and then you can switch to the other sink and just rinse. Tulsa’s highest and most reviewed Carpet Cleaner. Most people when they do their dishes that the way they do their dishes, they’ll do a soapy side where they soap up the addition, they go over the other side and they do a rent side where they rent it out. Your washing machine and your dishwasher will do the same thing. Um, unless of course they’re broken and they’re not working, then they wouldn’t be able to get your dishes or clothes clean. But in the case that they do work, the process that they’re going to go through is that they will first pre spray, get the dishes all wet.
Speaker 1: (02:49)
You’ll have that soak cycle where it goes through and then you’ll, it adds a soap in and it does a little kind of a light scrub soaking cycle and then it will through and do a rinse cycle where it goes through and rinses all of the dirt, the debris and the soap out that was in the carpet. Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998. And this is the key. This is the, this is the defining factor between great carpet cleaning and a mediocre carpet cleaning that feels like it gets dirty quicker is if I went through and I washed my dishes and I washed them really good and I went over them and cleaned them nicely. Then I use the soap scrubbed on it but then I never rinsed the dishes off. I just kind of use the soap and then just wiped off the dirt and debris. Well my dishes are going to stay a little bit sticky cause I’ve got a layer, a residue of soap on it as I was going to collect and attract dirt quicker.
Speaker 1: (03:39)
Now when we say attract, it does not mean that it’s got a magnet and it’s pulling the dirt dirt towards it. It just means that when dirt is on your shoe and you walk across something that’s sticky, it’s going to pull the dirt off your shoe and it’s going to stick to the carpet instead. Now if the carpet is soft and loose, the dirt is going to stick to your shoe cause that’s where it was kind of stuck to. Now. It may eventually it may rub off but it won’t stick to the carpet. It will rub off on the carpet because the carpet acts sort of like a nice soft brush and it will brush off the bottom of your shoe as you walk across it because a lot of times we walk, we don’t walk in a high stepping fashion so we don’t pick our foot directly off the ground and set it down and directly off the ground and set it down.
Speaker 1: (04:18)
This is why if you just put something as small as a a one or a two inch item on the floor and we don’t see it, we could trip on it because we don’t actually lift our feet that high, which is a great efficiency mechanism that our body does is to keep us using the least amount of energy necessary to get the most amount of travel possible. And so as you’re walking along, you typically will just lightly bring your feet up off the ground. Some people leave and kind of drag the feet across the ground slightly. And in that drag, in that light motion, you kind of wear out to the carpet, um, as you’re going across. We are Tulsa’s highest rated Carpet Cleaner. But also you’ve cleaned the bottom of your shoe. So as you walk throughout the house, you’re going to clean that bottom of your shoe. Any dirt on it is going to do a transfer is not the right word, but it’s going to be swept off the bottom of shoe with the broom.
Speaker 1: (05:03)
That is your carpet. Now carpet can do this and it’s one of the best parts of having carpet in your house. It’s one of the reasons I always say have at least 40 to 60% of your house have carpeted spaces. I’ll give you a quick three super tips for why you should have carpet in throughout the carpet in your home is that one, you’ve got a, a, you want to make sure that you are uh, having a S, uh, surface area to be able to capture the dirt. A lot of times people think, Oh these, this dirt is what is coming from the carpet. And carpet itself does not produce or create any allergens or dirt. Now it is a wastebasket so it will collect it. But if you go for tile, carpet, tile versus carpet, wood versus carpet, linoleum versus carpet, all those are hard surfaces.
Speaker 1: (05:49)
So if I dump a big thing of flour on the floor, that will be a big pile of flour on the floor and everyone will immediately see it. And we know that we immediately got to grab a broom and a mop and we’ll kind of mop, sweep it up, mop it up. But you’d kind of just keep going until it’s all gone. Cause you can see it all on a vacuum on your carpet. A lot of times we will go over and we’ll pick up most of it and then be like, Oh I went back in that later and then we come back later and do one light pass over it. And there’s still a lot of powder there, but we kind of, you know, that’s about as far as we’re gonna go. We don’t get in and try to do any deeper, uh, suction or deeper rinsing to get rid of it.
