Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998 we are complete carpet and give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 getting on the road to enjoy your home and your carpet again. Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998. Today I want to talk to you a little bit about padding. The carpet. Padding is underneath the wall stretched in carpets. Typically the only time that you don’t have Patty underneath your carpet is in here in a commercial space and the reason they will do their carpet straight to the floor without a Patty is that Patty has both paid plus and a minus to your carpet. The plus is that it’s softer. It allows it to get out a little bit more Gibbs so it doesn’t feel like you’re walking on a hard surface. And so if you lay down on the floor or you dropped down onto your knees, you can drop to your knees pretty easily or do a simple Cartwheel on carpet and it kind of feels like you’re on a gymnastics mat, so it’s got a nice soft plushy feel to it.

You drop down to your knees on tile and you’re probably going to bruise your knee, it’s going to definitely hurt. Whereas you can fall down on carpet and it really doesn’t make too much of a difference. You do a little front roll or a tumble under carpet and you don’t really skip a beat. You do it on the tile and that’s gonna hurt. You’re gonna roll your spine on a hard concrete floor that does not feel good. Tulsa’s highest and most reviewed carpet cleaner. And so, uh, there are the plushness is the plus. That’s the plus for carpet and padding. Uh, the downside to carpet padding means that the carpet has to be stretched into place because it has to float over the carpet. Padding the Patti underneath the carpet has to be held in place so the carpet will stretch across the Patty and hold on either side so it can’t touch the floor the entire way cause it’s floating on the padding itself.

So it’s like a padding cover, so to speak. And then on each side of the room, towards the baseboards, there’ll be tax driven that holds the carpet down in place on each side. Now that where it is holding is uh, giving that, uh, padding I cover and it’s going to hold it in place. Uh, this is so that you will be able to have the Patty hold itself in the middle of the room while the carpet is over top of it. Uh, now the downside to that is that now the carpet can move cause now the carpet is in essence a giant trampoline with the Patty being the Springs and the sides being the part of the total unit place. And so every time you step on the carpet, it moves up and down a little bit. And every time you move up and down a little bit, it slowly starts to wear the carpet down a little bit at a time. Now the carb is designed to last anywhere from seven to 10 years this way. So it’s not a detractor. Exactly. Just stretched in carpet. But on a commercial space, it is a major detractor because you’re going to have, let’s say you’re at a movie theater and it was plush soft carpet. Well after probably take three to six months of everyone walking into the movies. Tulsa’s highest and most reviewed carpet cleaner. That carpool will be wrinkled and it will have big buckles of waves in it. There’s two reasons to that. One, because the carpet’s really moving. Then to most commercial spaces have really large areas of carbon. It’s not like a a five foot wide hallway. It’s a 25 foot wide hallway and it’s not a 20 foot room. It’s a hallway that extends down for a thousand feet. So any missteps or over use, there’s no way to make a 500 foot long hallway tight because it’s just too much carbon.

It’s too long a carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1998 and so you’ll have this as a problem for the carpet stretching side. So what you do is you glue the carpet to the floor in a commercial space. Now the carpet does not move up and it does not move down. It doesn’t move left. It does not move right, and it does not move forward to those Googles backward because it is blued directly to the concrete. And being that it’s glued directly to the concrete, it doesn’t move at all. And this helps because it, um, this will change the longevity of the carpet. Now you can have a thousand people a day walk across the carpet and all it does is squish the fibers. It doesn’t move the backing because it’s glued to the concrete. And until that glue on the concrete breaks down, it stays right, stays right, put where it was at. Tulsa’s Carpet Cleaner since 1998.

So you could have five, 10, 15 years on commercial, concrete, commercial carpet on concrete, and it lasts just fine without any problems because it never moves. So there’s no bending. Think of it like a coat hanger. You take a coat hanger and you hang a coat on it. You could take a wire coat hanger, put your coat on it, and it’s sitting in your closet for 10 years, maybe 20 years. Now you could take one day, take that coat hanger out and take the wire on it and bend it up and then bend it down, then bend it up and then bend it down. Ended up bending down and really in short order, you eventually can break it, that coat hanger down and it will break in a fairly quick fashion. Whereas if you left it alone, left it in it’s shape, it’ll probably last, you know, 10 1520 years hanging there, holding your coat and place and then all of a sudden you bend it up and down for one minute and the wire breaks, and this is because it was designed to hold itself into shape, but it was not designed to be bent beyond the shape that it’s in. Carpet is a lot like this. The more that it bends, the faster it will break down and so you’ve got to make sure that you put into consideration the breaking point between longevity of how long the carpet is going to last, the enjoyment that you want of the carpet. And there’s a middle ground between those two spots of gluing the carpet directly to the floor or being a padded installation is that sometimes in a commercial office space where they don’t expect to have a huge amount of traffic but they don’t want, the spaces are too big to stretch into place. They will put the carpet down in what they call a double gloop padded installation and this is where the padding is glued to the floor and then the carpet is glued to the Patty and this creates a double glute situation where both items are glued to each other and it allows a little bit of movement.
