Welcome to the carpet diem podcast behind your I am your host, Nathan Sabritas. Thank you for joining us. As we talked today about water, the sheet of water, this is very influential in the way that you get things clean and then we’ll compare it to getting your dishes, cleaning or your clothes clean. There’s multiple different paths of ways to do it, but they all follow the same general concepts, the same general ideas, carpet cleaning Tulsa since 1898 we are complete carpet. Give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 or find us on the web at CompleteCarpetTulsa.com and for today we want to run you back through some basics of chemistry, some basics of physics and some basics of just general biology about things that we learned in our science classes, a little tests and stuff that we did. So we’re going to highlight first the heat of water. What does water heat do? A lot of times this gets overrated and underrated at the same time. People think that just by using hot water. So if I just steam the carpet with pure live steam, that that will do something that will remove the wrinkles from your carpet, but it’s not specifically going to clean the carpet just because the steam box, they a lot of people to use them as a way to try to make it that that’s going to be more effective and Steve hops are, they can’t be very effective, but what they are effective at is breaking down the stuff that’s on the floor to make it so that it is white available. Whereas just purely steaming, it won’t do anything except for dissolve it and make up a wider, bigger messier spot. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.
Speaker 1: (01:37)
I’ve had many people that try to use a steam mop by just putting over an area steaming and just leave it in there because now all of the stuff’s diluted but it never got removed. So the heat, what it’s doing, if you ever tried to wash your dishes, let’s use the dishes. That example, that’s a real simple easy one is that if you’ve got butter on a plate, you use cold water to rinse that butter off. You are going to have a really hard time getting a butter off the plate. You ought to use a lot of dogs. So, and you’re going down to the subheading [inaudible] the butter. So that gets me into suspension into something that can be removed off the plate. Now you just turn the dial over just to switch from cold water to hot water. Now you’ll have a completely different reaction because when the butter gets to a heightened temperature, now it’s becoming more liquid and then once it is liquid, it will rinse off or roll off the plate with just the force of water. And so this helps to remove. It helps to break it down, get to get things into a liquidity format. For example, if I use enough heat on a scented candle wax, it should break it down and create a and go back into looking forward to where it can be sucked it removed back off. We use a traditional candle. Most of those require a lot more heat and is too difficult to be able to get it off of B carpet by just using the heat of water alone. Yes, there’s the water at the truck. Hot enough melt it. That is correct, but the time needed to where you’ve got dwell time, like things slowly start to melt like the candle. As soon as you apply heat to it, dust doesn’t instantly fall into a puddle like a butter does. It does take a little bit time and the problem isn’t taking that much time. Speaker 1: (03:16)
You have over wet the carpet and we don’t want to use water in that fashion. We don’t want to over wet the carpet. We do want the heat to break down the oils and grease and stuff and so going back to our example of doing your dishes, the other side that you can do with it is also the heat of water with dwell time. Sometimes things need some time to get back into suspension. Let’s go back to our science science example here. And you are at, you’re in high school again, you’re back. You maybe you’ve gotten the big bangs or maybe you decided to go to sport a headband or, in my case I took it my jeans, like every cool kid at the time. I took my jeans and I folded them over one time to make it kind of tight around your ankle and I rolled it up twice. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.
Speaker 1: (04:00)
If you roll it up twice and didn’t take the full that you did and it gets trapped in the role and now you’ve got this nice nice tight tapered folded area. Why we did this because now in hindsight it looked weird. It does still look weird to me, but at the time it was a cool thing to do or you had the little a baseball cap that you flip the bill up on. He didn’t want to build one forward or down. It had to go up, which honestly looks really silly now but looking at it in hindsight, but at the time or that was sweet. That was cool because like here you are, you’re there. You also probably thought roller skating rinks where the hot place to hang out and pick up the girls. You, you actually had a Walkman on your, on your side of the thing with some headphones though headphones is still a cool thing. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.
Speaker 1: (04:42)
We just use a uh, cell phones now. Now you’d have the one that has the big anti-skid, but you could have all 10 seconds of skip direct protection, maybe 15 seconds of skip protection. You’re like, yes. Oh my goodness, I can almost shake the CD and it’s not going to skip because it’s got so much skip protection. We, uh, evidently as we got older, we skipped getting the skip protection because we realized we didn’t need it. We just used the MP3s and digitally I could shake my phone all I want to and it does not skip anymore. It’s weird. I don’t know how they define this and refine this technology to be able to keep my phone from skipping. But evidently it’s, it’s a perfect technology. I’ve shaken it during this whole, I’ve been shaking it like crazy, doing this whole podcast in it. Unfortunately it keeps recording just global. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.
Speaker 1: (05:24)
And so here we are. You are in your science class there with like the cute girl across you, probably a, you know, a Mary or a Susan. And then we had Amanda, uh, you had, you know, Kendra had all these, uh, just uh, kind of traditional one, two syllable names back at the time, probably related to some type of a Bible character or had some, uh, we all knew what the meaning of our name was and it was like asked of God, given God blessed of God. And so here we are, we’re kicking it. And your teacher does a science experiments. Yes. Here we go. We’re going to take this sugar and we’re going to dilute it into the water. We’re gonna take this cold water, we pour the sugar and it goes and drops to the bottom like a lump. And we take it, we take the beaker, we store the beaker, we shake it up and we finally get the sugar to dissolve into the water, which takes a lot of effort, a lot of story, a lot of shaking. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.
Speaker 1: (06:13)
It then says, okay, we’re going to do another beaker that we bring this beaker to a boil. Now the waters in a nice rolling boil and you take the sugar and you pour it into the beaker. And by almost magic, all the sugar disappears, it, none of it hits the bottom and you’re like, wait, where did all the sugar go? It immediately dissolved into it because of the heat and the activity of the water was stirring it up and got it through. Now we say, Hey, I don’t remember going to high school learning this. Well then let’s go. We’ll just jump right ahead. Skip the high school example. Let’s go to your every day. If you’re in the South then you know you like your tea, you either like your tea straight or you like it sweet, so you either have straight to your sweet. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.
Speaker 1: (06:49)
If you’re going to make your sweet tea, you take your knowable ice to tea and you’re going to make it sweet, sweet ice tea. When you take like 12 sugar package, according in your sweet ice tea and all of the sugar drops their body and they can take a iced tea fruit and you just, Oh you nice, good stir spoon. You just furiously shake that up, stir it up, and finally it all dissolves. You got it. Now if you want proper British and you want your hot tea, well then you’re going to take the hot tea and then you can literally take like one or two lumps of turned nasty baking, lumps of sugar as opposed to regulating sugar and they all actually just pour it in, put it into there and it just dissolves all on its own. It doesn’t take any effort from the people you just thought flop and you look down. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.
Speaker 1: (07:33)
It’s almost like getting some uh, Pepto Bismol, the uh, the tablets Alka seltzer where you just pop, pop, this is what a relief it is and just drop it down in there and it just, it dissolves itself and hot water will have that effect. It’ll help it to Expedia speed up the effect of the things and also to just make a quick or turn around. So that’s why you want to use, we tell our customers when you’re trying to clean up a spot, use some hot water cause it will speed up the time and lessen the amount of friction that’s needed to use against that carpet as you are getting a clean carpet cleaning.
