Welcome to the carpet diem podcast. I am your host, Nathan Sabrinas. And today I wanted to continue our podcast series on how to maintain your vacuum carpet cleaning Tulsa. Since 1998 we are complete carpet. So give us a call today at (918) 494-7093 and get on the road to enjoy your carpets again. So we were talking in the last podcast about the length of the hose and the type of the hose and that you need to maintain the proper distance and the proper suction. And we talk about there. The reason why is it that some vacuum is just go to die. Have you ever had a shop back? They always say put on a five foot hose on the shop back. That way you have your maximum amount of suction. If you go out to like a 20 foot hose on a shot, that the suction at the end is going to be very low. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.

And as you suck it through the hoses, it will eventually get clogged because it won’t be able to get all the way through the uh, the hoax. So you have to always be careful in making sure that you have the right machine for the right job that you’re trying to do. Similar to trying to drink your dr pepper with a, uh, even a 10 foot hose or Abe and a two foot hose. You’ve got gotta do photos. You’ve had to suck your dr pepper. You get a lot of extra workout you could add in. Also, what you’re trying to suck up will change the equation too. If you could take the same straw and put it into dr pepper and suck it up and you’re going to get just a rush of dr pepper if your normal drink straw. Now they take the same straw with the same cup, but I changed the content to a milkshake and it’s a very loose milkshake. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.

It’s like one that’s halfway melted. Well the nail will just kind of suck right in. It will be a little bit thicker though. So you, it will be a little different than, than every now and then you’ve got one of those frosts do use that are just almost frozen. Like you go to Bronx and get one of their real ice cream one. Sometimes they and less milk, more ice cream and it’s you. You have to, you have to drink it with a swim. You can’t drink it with a straw because you suck with the straw. You collapsed the straw, the liquid or the two frozen is do solid to move through the straw so you can take a spoon to kind of eat it first like ice cream until it starts to melt enough that you can suck it up through a straw. I had a lot of stuff that we do with our carpet. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.

He can be the same way because we are sucking up debris. I had one lady who’s backing it was shooting curios across the floor. I just wasn’t working well and I said, well let me, let me take a look at it for you because I was just there. She happened to mention it so I figured she was stumped and couldn’t figure it out. So, and I’m not a back vacuum expert so to speak, but I’ve dealt with them for 25 years and generally understand all the former functions cause our machines were broken to the same way. So let’s go over the four steps of vacuum that are super important and then we’ll go back to how we solved her vacuum cleaner issue. The first step on the vacuums is that we’ve talked about is that your hose needs to be appropriate to the strength of the vacuum. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.

Speaker 1: (03:15)
We use a very large carpet cleaning unit and the machine is very big but it so it can handle probably about 250 feet and you get about 300 minutes starts to slow down but up to about two 50 I get about the same cleaning power do all the way through. Now if I was to put a 250 foot hose on a home Depot shop back, you would get no flow at the end. It would burn up the engine really fast and so because it doesn’t have the power to handle that kind of thing, think of it like towing capacity. If you put a a huge 10 car trailer behind your Honda civic, you would destroy the transmission and the car and it probably would be able to drive anywhere, but you put it behind you put your Honda civic behind a semi truck and it’s going to be able to pull it all day long and won’t even notice the weight. You won’t even notice that there is something behind it because it’s got plenty of power to do that. So number one is make sure that the power and the hoses are, are uh, appropriately measured so that they are the same. And we need to have those two items the same. Number two, you can make sure, just like we’re talking about with the thickness of your milkshake, that what you’re trying to suck up. We’ll go through the hose. Sometimes people are trying to suck up something that doesn’t go through. It needs to be shoveled or picked up, not vacuumed up. Something that would be a good example would be if you’ve got nails or screws or bolts or something on the floor, you don’t want to use your bathroom to suck those up because it will destroy the inside of your vacuum. So make sure that what you’re picking up can be picked up by the hose. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.

And then number three is make sure that your filters are clean. The way that vacuum works is that it sucks. It doesn’t really suck air in to the vacuum. It blows air out of the vacuum. And so you need to make sure that it has the ability to get the air out of the vacuum. Yes, does it need to come into the vacuum? But first you got to make sure that the air can go out of the vacuum. And so the way that it creates the vacuum is by blowing somewhere else. It’s not by sucking, it’s by blowing. So it creates air that’s blowing out of the vacuum and that air that blows out of the back, you don’t want that air to be blowing dirt back into your home. So that air has to be filtered. And there’s typically three filters. There’s a canister filter that collects all of the dirt that you are about giving up. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.

Speaker 1: (05:36)
There is a, a big CAD filter that is taking that dirt that you’ve sucked up and keeping the dust from blowing out the front. And then there’s a small HEPA filter, a free filter, and then a big post filter. It’s unbacked. You have to have a fourth filter, which is a pleated filter on the front that takes the air of not that’s being, not filter, that’s being sucked into the, but it will filter air that’s being blown out of the vacuum. So you want to check all three of those cause if any of those, um, blow it, it’s trying to suck your straw while somebody’s pinching the straw. So if somebody’s pinching a straw while you’re trying to suck it, you won’t get much through and dirt. Each of those filters can pinch the straw. Each of the filters will reduce the air flow and you want that air flow to be at maximum so you can suck something in the very last thing. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa is in our fiber.

Speaker 1: (06:20)
Step number four is make sure that there’s not something stuck in the vacuum. Uh, this happens. We can go back to our first lady. We checked the filters, they looked pretty good. We made sure that the vacuum was set up the way that should be. It looked pretty good. I obviously every vacuum should have the attachment to be the right light because they’ve designed it. And of course we checked the last thing, we checked me, make sure there’s no obstructions in the hoses and particular vacuum had a hose that went down through the wheels, came up to the top and then it’s kind of sunk into thing. You could unhook that, then use it as a hand as accessory and then hook it back in so you could then back in the carpets with it in the bend of that thing. At some point somebody sucked up a sock and the sock was sitting in the band of the hose. Carpet Cleaner Tulsa since 1998.

Speaker 1: (07:03)
So he took the hose, made it straight to the coat hanger, hold the sock out. Soon as he pulled the sock out. The vacuum worked great and you want to make sure you check this every time he vacuum. And the reason why I check it every time you vacuum, yes, every time your body should look at it and be like, Hey, everything looks great. But uh, with a sock in there, if you’d left it in there and used the vacuum for let’s say 30 minutes, more than likely you’ll have burned up your back. And during that 30 minutes, because the sock is in there blocking all air flow completely and since no air can flow through it at all the um, no air can move through it at all. The motor is turning but not making any production. There’s no air coming out because of that, the air flow through it is what keeps the motor cool. So now it’s spinning and it’s just creating a vacuum. So it’s just creating, building up heat inside there and that will burn out the engine really fast. Likely vacuum vacuum decreased tremendously if you don’t keep it clean. Carpet cleaning pulses. Since 1998 we are complete carpet and give us a call today at (918) 494-7093.
